BEST LED OUT OF THESE FOUR...

By far the best among the medium price point leds is Spider Farmer. In your case 2 SF 2000s will leave enough space in between in the event that a quality bloom bar hits the market

There is NOTHING unique about HLG, their tech is at least 7 years old
Hey man, HLG is no longer producing boards with LM561C.

Is that what you meant by 7 year old tech?

Well, deffinetly not "The" QB, but the same style, flat pcb of mid-powers has been going strong as the drop-ceiling floro replacements since as far back as "15" that i saw remodeling a KFC.
Keep in mind, many lights, models, form factors & ideas come from the street, office & warehouse lighting industry.
It's making these type fixtures most efficient for growing that is the difference.
SK is a high-bay wharehouse housing. Flat pcb mid-powers were designed originally as floro replacements. Troff lighting ect...
Taking those ideas to the next level is what allows many growlight companies to keep it moving. There's only so many ways to deploy the photons.
I do not agree that it is old tech as the tech is in the diodes/driver which is always being updated.
Bar lights & Strips are not old tech just because BML made the Spyder 7 yrs ago.
As long as the design is providing the optimal coverage for its style then it will always be used.

If you are limited to those fixtures & that's it then I'd pick the Chilled GrowCraft (although am disappointed in their spectral choice)
All lights mentioned have the similiar HE spectrum except maybe the Optic-8 but I'd stay clear of Optic Led. You know a led comp. does not know what they're doing when they add 450nm royal blue to a white light. But i guess, To a degree, the same could be said for all these companies that primarily regard electrical efficiency over splitting the difference or trying more for Horticultural spd's. The results are still outstanding so no need to change for some. Just getting 660 added to their plain white is a big deal to many & has shown improvements.
Slim was listed at 2.7 & now is 3.0 umol/j? As AirWalker16 said, & i believe he speaks from experience. The comp.Optic Led is Poo.
New grower looking to set up a 4x4 tent with 4 plants (coco) and was looking into lights ive kinda narrowed it down to 4 of the top lights going around just wanted to have some opinions and advice on what to go with. 1) OPTIC 8 LED 2) OPTIC SLIM 600H 3) CHILLED GROWCRAFT X6 1000W 4) HLG 650R My goals are pretty much like everyone else high yield high potency.
Everything but the Optic-8 will give you similar results (that will provide the prettiest bud probably) if hung high over a 3.5x3.5. Longevity (thermal mngmt, diode spacing & quantity) customer satisfaction, build quality, warranty & the known use of top-bin diodes & quality remote drivers is what sets these listed fixtures apart.

Hey @Airwalker16 , your confusion is understandable. Maybe I can try to make sense of all this. If @PhatNuggz has pet plants( Pet Flora is not just the name for a soil-based multi-strain probiotic ), maybe he has pet spiders (pet fauna) as well. Perhaps one of these spiders went on to be an amazing farmer. This spider also knew a little bit better than Everyone else what spectrum marijuana vegetates and flowers best under.

Under the spiders guidance, Phattnuggz had some boards designed, tested and eventually produced enough to bring to market. These two debated about many names, but Phattnuggz finally conceded that credit to the main developer should be reflected in their product name. Hence the Spider Farmer was born.

I've always racked my brain trying to figure out where that name came from, and I think this makes the most sense. It also goes a long way in explaining why Phattnuggz feels obligated to mention Spider Farmer in almost any post he makes.
wow quite a fantasy you posted. Fiction is definitely your forte

Man I couldnt disagree more. If you're gonna get somethin on Amazon, go with Fissioning Boards 240R. It's an all 3500K Samsung LM301B with added 660&730nm Red Osram Diodes. The spread these boards lag down in unlike any other board I've seen period and I will vouch for them personally. Fantastic light.
Spider farmer as well as the Mars TS series fixtures have a 1:1 3000/5000K diode setup and it's just too much blue for flowering. I noticed quite a difference.

Check out the Par maps evenness for a single board at 120watts.

Also what in the hell do you mean HLG is 7 yr old tech? LM301 chips are super new.
Im referring to the mono spectrum as being old tech, not smds

I was not aware that SF ratio is 1:1, that's no bueno. I will stop recommending them, although I have seen some killer grows on another site

Thanks for the Fissioning link. Looks worth recommending, but you've recommended several, so confusing

I've reccomended Fissioning pretty much exclusively the last couple months.

EDITTED: I would try them to replace the center isle of lights which do not need to be more then 150w per 3x3 for me. Need flat boards that can press close to the ceiling. Would have to be remote drivers even if short leads.
Their diode layout is perfect for boards.
Did not know they had 660 + 730 nm.
Thought they were just white.
Wonder if they'd consider other colors too?

pretty cheap but no driver, I think this is a nice deal here and may be an error on their site

Certainly not a mistake. If anything, those triple slates are pretty long and are most likely sold less then others items. Still quite a bit of cash.

Im currently running a FluenceBioengineering SpydrX Plus in a 5x5 and a HLG 550 V2 Rspec in a 4x4.And i can tell you they are both great. But i like the fact that HLG uses less electric 480 watts compared to 660 watts from my SpydrX Plus but the heat sink needs a better design.Gives off more heat then my SpydrX Plus. And the SpydrX can be as close as 6inches away from the tops but the HLG has to be around 18 to 24 inches away. But depends on ur needs. The SpydrX Plus was 1500 whereas the HLG was almost half the price.just my 2 cents.

So your saying the optic has the best quality wise?
The Optic Slim 600H has more LEDs than most higher end 4x4 lights(factoring in the price of top bin Samsung LM301H), 2,760 in total. Assuming they actually use top bin chips, that is somewhat impressive.

I'm not a big fan though of the fact that they used the several generations old Cree XP-E for the mono-colored diodes on their light rather than a newer, more efficient diode.

The ChilLED GrowCraft X6 1000 watt looks like a damn nice light, but as @coreywebster said, a bit of a waste light-wise in your current space unless you run it perpetually dimmed.

In your situation, I would buy the HLG 650R. It has a strong full cycle spectrum and has just about the highest efficacy of any LED grow light on the market(the ChilLED light is of comparable efficacy, especially if run dimmed throughout its life, although that may make the drivers run slightly less efficiently). HLG is a reputable company, that stands behind their products, not just pushing another companies re-branded lights (this was the case with Optic LEDs older lights, not sure about the Slim 600H). HLG also has two representatives on this forum. Also if you like the high diode count of the Slim 600H, the HLG 650R has almost as many, with 2,664 diodes in total. 2,592 Samsung LM301H and 72 660nm deep red Samsung LH351H.

I would be honestly very VERY surprised if the 600H isn't on Alibaba under a different name built by another company just as they did with SunPlusLED.

You own a gavita 1700e?Does that use the new LM301B led's? That thing looks awesome! You're not wrong $$$, plus the controller and adapters. I need 2 to cover 5x10. Just can't seem to pull the trigger.

Yes, the 1700e uses the new chips. It also uses Osram Far Red chips...I believe the 1650e used the older ones.
