Started a plant in miracle grow potting soil inside under 2-65 watt full spectrum led floods. I built a 30"x 30"x 65" grow tent and added a supposedly 5000 watt full spectrum led lamp with 2 exhaust fans built in. Using bottled water when soil feels dry. The plant is thriving. Up to my 4th set of 5 leaf branches. About 3 weeks from sprouting. My question is when I replant to a larger pot, should I use more of the same soil or change at that point? This is my first grow and want to keep the science easy. Outside its easy to get creative with additives and fertilizer. Never grew inside before. Heard many pros and cons about MG. Would it be a shock to change soil at that point? Any help would be appreciated.

I would change the soil.. it's just my opinion, I just recently trans planted if you need some help on how to do so. Here is a link.

What type of root Boosters did they use? Seemed like alot for a small plant. What nuits do you add on a regular basis ? I figured MG soil would be good having time release nuits for veg stage. Then add nutrients for flowering when it's time. Seems the problem people have with MG is no control of fertilizing and to much nitrogen during flowering.

That is right. I would recommend something like promix or fox farms with some added perlite when you repot.
If you dont want to deal with a bunch of bottles, an all purpose nute like megacrop would be all you need

What is the light you are running? Even if that’s a cheap light from Amazon, with misleading information, that light is probably pulling at least 600W which is overkill for a 30”x30” tent and you will run into heat issues. Sadly, that probably cost you close to what it would’ve cost you to go with a much higher quality HLG light suitable for the tent. there are less expensive COB LED options that would work, too. When I started out I lit my 32”x32” tent with a $99 COB LED light from Amazon that pulls 300W and it was plenty for that footprint.

Nope never score.

The only time I’ve ever done anything to roots was when I was transplanting a mother and to hinder her growth a little more I chopped half her roots off before setting her in her new home.

Is there a reason you don’t? I often don’t, but that’s more out of laziness. From what I understand, scoring the root ball, or even just pulling it apart a bit with your hands before transplanting, is supposed to be really beneficial to the plants, because it helps prevent the root from continuing to grow in the same way they were restricted to in the smaller pot.

Doesn’t happen that way in coco.

I score mine because i wait till they show preflowers before repotting. They are usually pretty rootbound by then.
Flip em to 12/12 2 or 3 weeks after the repot.

Personally I like to have root space in the pot when I switch to flower.
I usally only wait a week for roots to begin to stretch out from transplant and then I switch.
IME I’ve found it helps slow the stretch down.

Used to do that in my micro grow. Would repot and flip at the same time, drastically reduces the stretch

Done that too without any detrimental effects using the transplant technique above as iT’s almost STRESS FREE.

The neutriants are Advance nutrients sensi grow A&B, and Superthrive.as far as time released newts, I. Not a big fan of it because you dont know the amount that is dispersed.

Supposedly 5000w full spec with two exhaust heat sink fans. Actually move air around the room nicely. Two 75w led full spectrum flood lamps. The 75w incandescent flood lamp is for heat. The leds don't put out alot of heat. The room stays at about 75 to 80 degrees when enclosed. Been doing 20 on 4 off.

I can't see the model number or manufacturer, but I can tell you just by looking at that light, that isn't anywhere close to 5,000W. It's probably close to 200W because, any LED light more powerful than 100W - 200W, would be frying that plant if it were that close to it. I keep my 65W LED light 24" off my plants that are that small.

Is there any root booster that contain both ? Wanted to keep cost down on the first attempt. Was thinking of black gold organic potting soil ( seems to have lots of natural nutrients) and perlite to transplant from MG soil. Not sure if I want to or need to mess with cleaning the roots. The plant is a little over 3 weeks from seed

It was advertised as that. $50.00. Is it overkill or maybe raise the lighting. It's looking good now
