5 gal pot size too big for autoflowers

I took a five gallon bucket and cut 3 in off the top and grew super skunk auto. Perfect size for big yeilds. I got over 60 grams in fox farm ocean forest. First grow.20200109_211228.jpg20191213_202635.jpg

I recommend using 5 gal pot and start the seed in that container. Dont start in a smaller container and transplant. The first few weeks you probably won't have to water but once a week. Make sure to waite till the top inch of the soil is dry before you water. I didnt give any nutes for the first 6 weeks. Then only 1/2 strength nutes once a week. You can probably get higher yeilds with a different strain. I went with super skunk auto becuase I needed it to stay under 2 ft. I did top it after the 7th node to keep it short. Probably better to do list or top after the 5th node(before it starts putting on buds). Good luck.

The one I harvested at 12 weeks was sweeter smelling and more sticky. The one I harvested at 14 weeks put on more weight but wasn't as sweet and sticky. I like it sweet and sticky. Might consider this when harvesting.

Thanks Budbreath ill keep that in mind, im growing royal dwarf autos can they stay nice and small and tehy are going well, almost at week 2 now

I've considering switching to 5 gallon grow bags. I currently use 3 gallon grow bags.

I'm just curious... why switch? Did you run into rootbound issues? I've run in 3 gallon pots for years and haven't had a problem. I veg for eight to 10 weeks.

600w led but its actual power draw is probs lower
Post your light info and one of the LED gurus can help. Your plant will only get as big as your light allows. If you don’t have enough light I don’t think you will benefit from larger pot size

Its a 600w philizon led light one the cheaper ones of amazon i know its not the best i just wanted something to start off with
