Is it true tht you can flavor with brown sugar by feeding you plant a 1/4 table spoon once a week disolved in a gallon of water. Has anyone ever tried this and dows it work, or just attract ants?
i tried it out on my plant, with only good results, the buds really fattened up and the buds did get a distinct smell from it also. It was in 6th week now just plain water for 7th week and then i flush 8th to harvest
i use the brown sugar for the molasses which makes the BUDS nice and FAT. works great look around the forum u will see molasses works. i have compared it to plants that i havent used it with and all shows it works
you cannot simply add brown sugar and expect it to change the flavor of your bud and why would you want to change the flavor? if grown, dried, cured, stored right the flavor should be outstanding regardless the strain.
i use mine throughout the whole cycle. if it flowering already its fine u can still throw it in there. I use 1tbl per gallon while vegging and 2tlb per gallon when flowering
edit: when i 1st did the test 2 plants with brown sugar and 2 w/o i didnt notice a difference in taste just size of buds. a big size difference
not really believing when i have actually done this 2 times 2 plants with 2 plants w/o i not saying it adds flavor cuz i never tasted a difference but he brown sugar has the molasses in it which swells up the buds. Dont knock it till u do it and see for urself ok
and your assuming that I have never tried molasses, I grew 5 plants without molasses and 2 were feed with molasses from about 2 weeks into flower and there was no difference in the plants or the size of the buds.
Then your doing something wrong, i do not use molasses but it does work and it is the active ingredient in most nuts. Brown sugar is just broken down molasses so that the plant doesnt have to do it itself. I use neither, but brwn sugar does work.
dudes its not the brown sugar/molasses that the plant uses, its the bi product from the bacteria that consumes the sugar within the soil that is taken up by the plants
show me a documented grow that proves the benefits of using brown sugar/molasses. Show me a grow journal that shows plants from seed or clone that don't use brown sugar or molasses VS plants that do.
i have read on overgrow.. (im an overgrow refugee)
watering buds with brown sugar or w/e can actually increase weight, but NOT quality or smell.
The smell and quality would improve only from proper fertilization and curing/storing.. your buds are gonna get stinky regardless... how would you link the stinky buds to molasses?
You would have to test that like an experiment with same strain plants, same environments/lighting and the control being water with/without molasses.. so you really cant say that molasses made your buds sweet and dense, how would you know? the plant cant tell you lol
and even if you have tryed it already, it is likely that two of the same strain could yield differently and one smell better than the other.. That could happen with normal water...
im sure it could all be myth but like someone said earlier you cant knock it till you try it.. its actually a possibility
just a thread of the same topic on another site to check out that you all may find interesting.. Cheese Green kinda sums it all up towards the end...
