Does it matter? He will need a super majority in the Senate and win the House to get anything done. And even then anything that is out now will just be changed later on. Chasing tails is a worthless exercise.

okay, this is going to be dumb, but I think the quotes were more to represent a specific character and his overall and well known message and presentation, and not necessarily supposed to be a direct citation. Grammar can be tricky... usually when it is a reference to someone and their words, it would only be in quotations when it is a word for word example, and anything else would be just paraphrasing. However, the way this was used was as a caricature of sorts, and so could be in quotes, as it isn't being used as a second-hand recall of an exact point of speech, so much as an overall rendition/impression of a person and his overall message. quotes can also be used to express character dialogue within hypothetical situations, or for demonstrative purposes- like if I said, "i really think this buss guy is an idiot sometimes", then quotes work, because it is being used to separate the focus of the subject, from the perspective of the writing as a whole, adding another sort of dimension and personal touch to the point, (whatever it is), that is being made. ... if anyone wants to add anything that would make this more coherent, please do. .... or don't, this is kind of stupid... Anyway, if you just want examples of Bernie saying these things, but maybe not in the exact words, i'm sure that would not be hard to find... actually, it might be more difficult finding an example where he doesn't say something that is connected to it somehow...

He loves taking shit completely out of context. His sig for example would have you believe that I am a domestic abuser, just because he disagrees with my political commentary. He went off on @Fogdog too for not agreeing that counting is math. Made a sig out of that too. Counting is a form of mathematics, albeit an extremely basic form, but the two are not synonymous just like German Shepherd is not dog. He made a sig out of it and claimed it as his great victory. You're not going to get anywhere with this rational approach.

So how good is Medicare really? What are the people going to do if they need to have an expensive oral procedure/surgery? What if they need a pair of glasses, Medicare isn't going to cover none of that.
