First time grower. 8 weeks Veg

I did some trimming on the bottom 1/3 of plants today. This was the first time I’ve done it to these girls. Accidentally broke two major stems off. Hope these breaks don’t hurt it. Also picked up the growers bible yesterday!
Looking good. Give them a day or two to recover and then take off about 5-10 big fan leaves that are blocking lower bud sites per day until they're all gone. It'll grow back more leaves over the next week or so and you won't even notice you did it.

The leaves look fairly flat which is good. If you notice that drooping curved down look to the leaves you should back off on the watering.

Definitely give them that garden friendly fungicide stuff, or you could also get photosynthesis plus (same stuff basically). It'll help prevent more root rot.

So I have thinned out lots of the fan leafs as others have recommended. What should I do. now? Should I put a SOG net over spread out the canopy and put into flower? I’m sitting at 9 weeks Veg. I know next run I’ll be topping along with better foliation throughout Veg. This is my first grow of any kind. I wanted to veg them once without any guidance to see how they would grow on there own for fun. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

That is an awesome setup and garage man. That's impressive. You sure don't half-ass shit like I do, lol. My father would be proud of that nice clean garage. He always cleans mine when I'm still sleeping when he visits, and then I don't know where shit is.
Haha my OCD would prolly do the same!

Well I switched them to flower! Went into 36hrs straight dark to transition them into now 12/12. They actually look healthier than before too! I believe to have the medium issue solved. I must of been flash flooding them with the watering can way to fast before. Also temp was at 85f now down to 75f. Must of been baking them. Led lights are set at 20”. I started feeding them slowly now and little bits at a time. Also switched nutes to innovative plant products brand. Picked up the full starter box kit. Also added some soil microbe and airated the soil. Hopefully can ride this out and have some nice final product.

Great stuff mate. That space is amazing. I'm not too experienced myself but maybe if you could have the lights circled around your plants at angles would that not distribute light so much better and maybe have stopped them from stretching so much

Plants are doing great still! Had a timer issue two days ago with one light. It did not shut off at night so ended up with 21hrs lights on period. I then Shut them all off and did a 24hr reset dark period. Hope this light cycle change does not effect them much. Only 7 days into flower.

Very nice looking setup. You'll gain a lot of knowledge from this first grow of yours, and next, you'll be well on your way. Looks like you could benefit from some more training to break that apical dominance next grow! That's still an area I need to improve as well -- hoping I follow through next grow (not get lazy with training). Fantastic looking grow sir! Really dig the angled lighting.

Thanks for the kind words. Yea some training is in order for sure. I was just wanting to take it easy and learn some basics and watch how the plants grow. Next run I will for sure open them up and top them or fim. Maybe a trellis net. So many choices haha.

Absolutely — I’m still experimenting myself. Had a couple of great hauls thanks to some wonderful genetics @Useful Seeds, and just dialing in what I like best. I’ve really enjoyed living soil/organics with QB’s so far. After getting a few grows under my belt, I feel like training and plant structure is where I really need work. Topping is a great way to break strong apical dominance, and a trellis net is also fantastic for keeping your canopy even. A combination of both definitely keeps the plants happy and keeps your canopy full of evenly light colas. I’m interested to watch your grows - hope you stick around RIU!

Look into LST. You have so much space to get them wide and bushy! Absolutely amazing grow space, I'm jealous. Enjoy growing, and look forward to updates!

Do you guys think it’s a good idea to put on a trellis net and open these up a bit? Or just ride this one out and start fresh next run.

Well I picked up a 30x/60x jewellers loupe from Amazon at $10 and used my iPhone camera to capture the images. Very impressed with this. Opens up a whole new window into the the level of growing and understanding the plant. These are Sour Diesel at 3 weeks flower.

Just hit 4 weeks flower. Buds are starting to put on some weight. Anyone know of this much yellowing of the leafs is ok?
Looking very nice @LoganGP, it looks like you need to adjust your newts. Your fan leaves will eventually turn yellow but this is pretty early for them to start now. Cheers!
