Anyone running a HLG 550 V2 R-spec? DO you like them?

I'm considering buying these lights, I'm fairly new to growing and would love to hear if you are running them. I plan on using them from veg through to flower. I'd love to hear if they are durable enough to withstand humidity and if they are user friendly (any issues with the screw dimmer) and yield wise were you impressed? I'm also new to the forum lol so i will drop the link here and hope it works for ya.

They are one of the more popular brands in this forum. As for their performance I don't use them so I can't really help you.

It's an excellent fixture. If you're at all handy, you can buy the components and put it together yourself, at a lower cost. Or, if you don't mind shelling out the coin for a pre-built, just buy it and hang it. Either way, you'll be very happy with the results.

I have one, previously I had used a 315 watt CMH with a Timber 2VL in my 4 x 4 x 80 inch tent. Its more efficient, got better side branching with the Rspec though. Due to its even light spectrum well SPREAD out. yield wise? a bit more due to that spead, not an incredible amount.

Its a beast in flower, avg in veg.........mine is 3500k

Handy is something I strive to be one day lol

I'm happy to hear that you find it efficient, that is good news!

I'd think guys that build lights every day, all day would be neater and do a better job. But if you're a liscenced electrician or work with electronics daily a DIY light would be just as good. Given the same quality diodes, driver and parts.

LOVE the light, its fairly heavy tho.

HLG550's...... HeAvY?!?! I would recommend not getting any other lights if the 550 is heavy to to ya. The 550 has gotta be one of the lightest fixtures if not THEE most light weight 500W+ light.

the diy kits are fairly simple to put together, but you can end up screwing yourself with the VO adjust if you overdrive the boards. they had a 600 w diy kit up but its out of stock as of this post.
