The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Kingbrite 288 v2 lm301b has a slightly lower price per diode than the lm561c fotops from meijiu. Which is great, since the efficiency is also better.
I’m still contemplating the flower light. Whether I go with 6 of the V2, V3 or V4 boards. I’m thinking V3 with cree’s or osram’s to try and get close to that 90cri rating as Kingbrite and Meijui don’t have 90cri diodes for low moq’s. I think the IR and UV is better and easier to just run strips to have more control. The price for those V2’s might sway me but fuck there are too many options! I gotta pull the trigger this week since I’m 2-3 weeks away from flip. Uggggggghhhhhhhh

White + reds 90 cri is not the same as 90cri whites though... Wow, that sounds racist in some way. But the point is that the 90cri whites have a somewhat different spectrum, more far red and peaking around 625-630nm. If you get boards with photo reds and some far reds youll have something similar though. But it adds cost, when you could have it all for the cost off a white diode. Its not actually the 90cri youre after, its the extra reds. Imo and as far as ive seen in SXS the 90cri whites beat 80cri whites + added reds.
White diodes (based on blues) are the most efficient and also they are much more resistant to heat than red diodes.

I totally agree but the problem im having is sourcing the kits that have 90 cri white diodes. I even asked meijiu and kingbrite about boards with 90 cri lm561 and they said no dice unless I order 100 boards. Poops magoo if you ask me.

I think Leroy needs ETL listing or similar for passing code. I think would limit you to HLG, Bc blonde, gavita, not sure about Amare, and a few more.

Yup. That is correct. This grow has to be by the book and up to code. Thank all of you for your helpful information so far.

Certification is also usually required for insurance coverage.

It's splitting hairs, really. I commonly hit 2+ gpw even with 4,000k lm561c. Focus on environmental optimization, especially humidity and air flow. It's going to make a bigger difference than minimal diode changes.

Im pretty sure you can get them thru meijiu, theres a moq but not 100. My best guess is minimum 4000diodes/one reel.

Yeah that’s the plan. enviroment controller, and 8 inch exhaust fan. Are the 561’s 90 cri? Has anyone sourced an Ali supplier that offers 90 cri diode boards with low order numbers?

Hi happy growers, Quick question, maybe a silly one but still need to ask to be sure. Does dimming down a quantum board with a potentiometer lower the watt usage (electricity bill)? And someone know the height I should hang my boards for the different growing stages?

Thanks all and I wish you all a very happy holiday season!

In a 4x4 tent what is your opinion for the better option? The 480w HLG 550 knockoff from King brite with 4x 50w bulbs, one for each corner, or the 630w solo??

Yes it does, but its not linear, its allways more efficient close to 100% load and 100% dimm.

If you are very concerned re power usage then the solutionnis to have for example one driver for flower and a another weaker one for veg.

Just found this on Ali, good price for the V4 boards but I’m not sure how “Blaze Technologies” are. Anyone have any experience with them? If you scroll through the variations available, the V4 250w units are $145 cdn! Cheaper shipping than KB and Meijiu as well. I’m getting the too good to be true feeling.

pretty good price, might not be top bin and i think its also cheaper because the shipping price is lower compared to others

3 of them would be 50 cents per watt and 2 would be 60 cents per watt

750watt for 415$, thats pretty good

Inquired a little further cause I was skeptical of the price. The driver provided for the 240w kits are a MingWei brand. So really you’re not saving much and also, who likes house fires? Back to KB for me.
