Win a PerfectpH Auto pH Balancer for Hydroponics

This is just full of special resin beads. You can make your own for relatively cheap. Buy the beads and put it in an inline filter yourself to save a bunch of money. The resin is a little expensive but you only need about 1g per gallon of solution you want to correct. Amberlite cg50 has been around more than a decade, it’s a carboxylic acid cation exchange resin.

You can reuse the beads indefinitely if you wash them with some acid between runs.

I have no idea why these inline mesh filters full of beads are so expensive.

I just read this article and the replies in this blog from Dr. Daniel Fernandez.
https://scienceinhydroponics.com/2010/05/how-to-have-a-constant-ph-in-hydroponics-no-more-corrections-o.html
Reading this I am sure that is exactly what the PerfectpH is.
I can understand that a firm wants to make some profit when they put the special resin beads in a filter.
But asking almost $ 90 for a liter of hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid (deluted to 5%/10%) is something else.

@dstroy Do you know where you can buy Amberlite CG50 beads that are a bit bigger?
I saw a place where you can buy it in powderform, but I was wondering if there are places where larger diameters are for sale.

That's a pity because it looks like a cool product.

system type: RDWC or bottom fed autopots
media type: Clay pebbles or coco coir
nutrient type: Mineral
size: 30g RDWC or 40 gal bottom fed

It’s nice to not have to worry about PH especially in RDWC, having to mix PH adjusters and trying to thoroughly mix it so the first two buckets don’t get a concentrated mix. I liked using Adavanced Nutrients PH perfect line but it was too expensive

Drain to waste coco
Canna nutrients, mineral
5gal cloth pots, approx. 20litre per day of nutrient solution.
Hailing from the UK.

Winning this would make life easier , save me buying ph down and keep my nutrient profile from changing when I add phosphoric acid.

Not very often you see a clever product that isn't just reinventing the wheel.

system type: drip/NFT hybrid

maintaining PH is the most hands on part of my system. a product like this would definitely cut down on time required to be spent checking levels.

Congratulations.

Hoping for reviews as well.

@TorusHydro
Would it not be a good idea if you would pick a grower on this forum and supply him/her it with PerfectPH and do a grow journal?
