reflective material for grow room walls

hi i am looking at building a small grow room and i have seen videos of this reflective material that is like a solid foam board. can someone tell me the name of that stuff so i can try find it to buy

is that stuff easy to work with or does it brake easy and is it easy to cut because it looks soft in videos i have seen people using it on the walls

I would just go with white paint. The glossy stuff.

my walls are not good enough to paint not a flat surface so i need to use boards on the walls so wanted to use ones that already had reflective stuff on them. i guess i could just use plywood boards and paint them white but plywood id heavy so is rather foam boards. i can not find them on google because i don't know what that stuff is called

You’re better off with a flat white surface. Promise you. The foam you are talking about is expensive. Check Panda film. SilveRboard is the name of the other and it’s about $35 for a 4’X8’ piece 1” thick. But again flat white is the best for grow areas.

You can get rolls of mylar. Just look on google for reflective mylar rolls. Or if you are really tight up for money you can get mylar gift wrapping paper at the dolar store. The back of it is pure silver and 99% reflective. The stuff on amazon is a little thicker and both sides are 99% reflective. Its better than paint.

They sell the foam stuff at home depot and its used for insulation. But mylar rolls are going to give you much better reflectivity.

Can you use sheet rock? If you aren't gonna be beating up the walls or hanging heavy stuff the 3/8" drywall would work well. Go with a green or blue board for mold and mildew resistance.

On amazon they have rolls of the mylar with the hammer finish just like in the grow tents. 94 to 97% reflection, flat white comes in second with 95% being the highest. Id send a link but im to new to this forum. Hope this helps. Im using it for my next grow.

TintEastwood is aiming you in the right direction. 4 x 8 sheets of Insulation foam board comes in various thicknesses available from HD/Lowes. Cut to size with a serrated knife

Mostly not necessary when using leds as 100% of their light aims directly at the canopy

The pic above with leds is misleading in that typically the light is < 3ft above the canopy

Considering there is no canopy in that pic I posted and this is a thread about reflective material you sir are a fucking moron.

I run them 18” at flower. Sounds like you’ve never grown with boards before let alone grown cannabis?

There is fans blowing directly on each set of drivers and are cool to the touch.

Although I do plan on getting a smaller heatsink and cutting it in half to mount all 4 drivers to eventually. I’m just trying to dial my room environment in so I can start running it for now. Baby steps.

I started with just the rigid foam and later added another R13 insulation in the walls and R38 in ceiling. I libed it with a orca typ material to get me through this grow and will line the walls with the same stuff they use in the grow tents. It is a mylar with diamond etching. According to my research it is now the most reflective surface wr can get. Better than flat white paint even. 97% reflection as apposed to 92%-95% with white paint.
