Well, I gotta say, I am impressed with Amares communication. I sent some additional questions over and they already responded. It is 8.18 amps as I expected and the 660nm diodes are the new Osram Osalon SSL 150 diodes. Now I am considering buying one for testing.
The quality and performance should be fine, I personally like tunable products at that price range.

Man, with all your standards & demands you must be growing under some sort of serious grow light???
I don't grow myself, but I do design lights. I have plenty of people wanting me to make lights for them. I will probably have something soon for them thats easy to use, I am not sure if I will put it into full production though

They redesigned them after the initial prototype. The original prototype had nichia diodes and the final production version has the LM301B diodes. They also upped it from 880 watts to 900. The 900 watt version is the new one.

Pre-production had the SSL's to & the final has the Oslon square series.
Now to decrease shipping cost somehow. They do not charge the customer for shipping. At 500 awhack it adds up. That means their only getting 700 for the Bar-8 after RIU discount. If thats not as fair as it gets or even unfair to Amare then i don't know what is.
Im glad you got some info. To share. Thnx!
I never gave this any thought but say i wanted a Timber Fartty Vs. Does that mean id have to pay $1200 for the light then also have to pay a couple hundo more to ship?
What other Manufacturers charge for shipping?
Not HLG right? Not for production fixtures amyways???

Shipping for amare apparently isn’t free either.
I just got quoted $2933.50 for 2 of the 900 watt ones. Answers my question to what lights I’m buying.

Yeah, i just got an e-mail from Victor telling me they have to charge 197.00 for shipping on the Bar-8 to help with the outrageous shipping on thar unit.
So its shipping & Amare covers handling. Theyve never charged me shipp8ng on the other lights i e purchased though. Because of the long length over 48" it is a separate, way more expensive classification. I pray Amare does NOT shorten the length of this Beast to decrease shipping. Apparently it would be a substantial amount less per unit but damn, i hope not. I guess 2" wouldn't be the end of the world. So much power on reserve.
You mentioned you're RIU member right?
Should be around 1200 each then.

Is $197 the shipping cost from China? Or is that local shipping costs? It seems high. I thought these were made in the USA and you guys were in the USA.

It is still high. I know for international freight there will be a higher fee but local freight it's usually not so bad, so my question is again are they being shipped from the China to the USA or is that USA to USA freight

The wharehouse is in Vegas. Its stocked but its cheaper to DropShip the Bar-8 in particular.
The main factory is big & in the China area.

So it's a made in China product then. Looks like they will need to fill a container with these then to keep the freight down. That also explains why although the Nichia chips had higher performance they are not being used. Chinese manufacturers get hit hard with import tax from Japanese chips. They should make these in the USA instead of China. Trump doesn't want people drop shipping anymore and as the taxes on drop shipping increase so will the price of the product you guys are buying. It would actually be cheaper to make these in the USA rather than China as the extra cost of the freight could go towards the wages of hard working Americans

Going to have to move quite q but of stuff lol but I'll post pics
That's interesting... it looks like a combination of lm301b and lm561c diodes for white.

I'm not sure if the plaster in my ceiling will hold this heavy beast
Congratulations! Damn, that was quick!
No, you need solid meat.
Be careful hanging it & dont make the same mistake i did. Install x4 eye boots to each double bar rail. Dont skimp cuz youll wanna open the light up someday & have x4 double bar lights. Now i cant fond the other eye bolts.
Oh boy, this so cool!!!

Found my ceiling joists finally and put in my eye hooks
Their too big good times.
I got really lucky
At max kheight im 20" above my canopy
Have one eye person hook didn't trust it to split em also height is now and issue
It looks great tho
It has a dial im not sure what to set it at so i set it to 80 till I hear from one of you guys 20190311_203647.jpg 20190311_203637.jpg i can't ever get a video to load so here's a link

Good job, with passive cooled bars best to run a oscillating fan over them if you don't have one already that I didn't see.

yer whats the idea behind that?. they have less coating on them so i presume that the lm561 are a higher K but why not use all 301b? were the 561's available in different K or CRI combinations that the 301's are not?.
