I haven't made a poll in a long time. And I've simultaneously watched too many TedTalks for my Oral Communications class. Interesting subject nonetheless.

AI will be the end of us, even Hawking thought so. Alexas are already talking shit to people, bunch of vids on youtube about it. Would you upload your consciousness into a computer for immortality? I thought it was cool in Chappie but that scares me even more after watching Black Mirror.

Yep. I too think it's inevitable. Man's innate desire to build. The governments innate desire to compete. Only a matter of time where it gets away from us. I envision it somewhat like Judgement Day in Terminator whereas the AI just hacks all the computers and sends nukes flying. Less of a robot uprising and more of an autonomous self-aware computer program. I have yet to see Black Mirror but it's on my list. The philosophy aspect of it is interesting. The second season of Battlestar Galactica actually ran pretty deep with it.

Alfred Hitchcock had a good show also around the same time period.

My mom made me watch them with her so she wouldn't be scared. I think she figured I wasn't paying attention or it was over my head as a little kid.

I still remember that TZ episode with the talking doll.

If computers are truly smart they won't waste any time dealing with a race doomed to self eradication by tide pods.


But then again maybe our computers are cg'ing these utube challenges to engineer our demise.
