Filter stopping negative pressure

They are inline duct fans as far as I’m aware. From what iv read these are the style that are recommended. I know the ones you posted look like cheap Chinese shit and I never considered entertaining one. I doubt they would cool a computer tower let alone a tent

Let me know what you think.im a squid so willing to listen to any input from people with more experience
Nothing wrong with those fans you have.
He pictured a duct booster, which is inline but not the same as your fans.

Thank fuck for that Haha yeh they do blow like fuck almost take your breath away it’s just when connected to that filter. I’m sure there is a shop nearby I can pick one up from if not I’ll look at those recommendations I’m not making one I can’t be bothered pissing about with charcoal

i made one many years ago and yeah it was a pain in the but. This was before amazon was a big thing and finding things online was a little more difficult. Now they have them for 50$ and that is crazy if you ask me.

Yeh iv used charcoal in vivariums and fistanks over the years and it’s a nightmare like you say it’s stupidly priced then iv got my time going into fabrication of a housing considering one of the recommended 6” is around £70 it’s just not worth the hassle

Original problem was definitely shitty filter

New filter turned up today had to go for the 6” rhino hobby as opposed to the pro as a temporary measure because cash is...gone haha should sort me for a bit

Tent is now setup as below

600w hps

Filter-6” fan-ducting-hood-ducting-out of room-vented into house

4” fan pulling air from outside into base of tent

No problems with negative pressure at all

Temps after 2 hours currently sat at

Room: 21.5/70.7f
Tent Bottom: 27c/80.6f
Tent Mid: 28c/82.4f
Tent Top: 27c/80.6f

I expect temps to drop slightly through the night but the temps are lower then they were with the old filter

Would you be happy with those temps veg through flower?

Obviously I can go back to 400w (havnt checked those temps but I was curious with 600)

Inline fans are trash...you wasted your money. Buy a blower.

An inline fan is not designed to force air into a filter or pressure. Just to move some air.

IMO you will not solve your issue with those fans. Look at the blades inside. They are not tight, the air gives zero fucks about those fins when under pressure.
Are you thinking of inline booster fans or something? Inline fans like his vortex are far superior to blowers for dealing with ductwork and loads like carbon scrubbers...

Originally he thought due to high temps and the fact iv never done this before that I may of been referring to booster fans.all got cleared up though

yeah i didn't know they called everything an inline fan now. Thought only those boosters were inline fans. We cleared up the confusion earlier.

Yeh cheers for the help I was definitely losing my mind/money with all the extra shit I think I’d still like to get the temps a bit lower then what they are though otherwise come summer I can imagine I’ll have to implement co2/AC

Do you have much in the way of air circulation? It doesn't cool but it does mix the air to give a more uniform temp from top to bottom.
Don't forget to only take readings in shade and not in direct light, the HPS spectrum will give a false reading with al the IR.

I have two 6” 16w Secret Jardin clip on fans iv been using both An infra red temperature sensor and a humidity/temp sensor in the tent

I moved that last night out of the light still at canopy height just nearer the door of the tent temps were awesome through the night 23.5-24c/74 75.2

Iv also changed lights on/off time slightly so hopefully that helps too

Also found a post stating the bulb I’m using made their grow run a couple degrees higher

It’s a lumii sunblaster dual spec 600 so cheap (it came with the ballast)

I may look at osram/Phillips and see how they get on that could make all the difference

Hay,I had the same problem with my filter it clogged up at one end,
I washed the prefilter sock and switched the ends around it was like I got a
New carbon filter, it lasted almost as long as new.

Iv thought about the other filter ill probably drill the rivers out and sort it so it can be used as a filter on intake saves it going to waste

Yeah I used those lumii bulbs before. Not very good in comparison to Philips. Osram are good.
A good bulb on a budget are the omega bulbs which have a similar output to Philips but a fraction of the cost.

I doubt the bulb would change the temp of a room unless it was a super red spectrum in comparison to dual spec.
The wattage will depend on the ballast and there is some major variation between one ballast and another even in the same brand.
Especially in the cheap ballast market.

I wouldn't use dual spec for flowering. Its a lazy mans bulb.

I’m definitely changing the bulbs for the first properly done grow, this all started because the mrs planted a seed under a small 40w bulb that we had left over from the reptiles we kept.iv been thinking about it for years I just wish I’d of bought decent equipment to start with then I wouldn’t of ended up with
2 tents and all the extra shit i don’t need haha
I’m definitely not lazy I go a bit ocd with things like this

Grow medium is one I want to sort myself also, not keen on stuff just done for me I want to get this as perfect as I can so I know exactly what needs altering and when I’m not growing for myself to end up with shitty street quality it needs to be done right
