SCROG defoliation

Thats a scrog yes... but the op also has a scrog. Thats just a plant thats been trained a shitton an is likely pretty old. It doesnt HAVE to look like that going into flower, amd that plant is already IN FLOWER.
What ever.... You go grow yours and have your fun.

Scrog is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE its a very simple way of growing. The op is gonna be fine. Could it be better or differant? Yes. But that doesnt mean theres anything wrong with it. Hes got a screen in place, a plant growing into it, he trimmed up the bottom, has a even canopy, hes good to go.

Theres no rule saying how many tops there need to be, or screen height, or watts used, soil or hydro, thats all random details that dont matter.
Do you get a paycheck for directing web traffic to that site? Why not use your words an type out some info for the op if you know stuff an im sure you do know stuff.

Going with your thinking.... Plant + Net = SCROG
I'm a fuckin Race Car Driver!!! Car + Foot = Race Car Driver. NO TRAINING NEEDED!

Zoom Zoom!!! Hell where did I put my Hockey Skates????
You might consider toning down the "high and mighty I'm better than you" attitude.
You're probably not the best grower on her - I know I'm not but I do alright and I understand the concept of the SCROG is to keep the canopy as level as possible.
Constructive advice is what new'bs seek here, not ridicule (which is your sole contribution so far)

The last two were from a day after and then returned a couple shoots. I’ll start training the front towards the back and the back one tonthe sides to fill it. Been slowly taking leaves here and there to expose bud sites. Don’t want to take too much too fast so I don’t stress it. Low and slow. 3x3.5 screen. 8”-10” from soil.

One thing I’ve noticed with a rigging is you’ll chase your tail thinking you’ve got plant problems when in reality most the blemishes on the leave are usually coming from growing through the screen.

Wow that guy up there is an absolute prick.
I've been a member for just a couple months, and have already dealt with that twice.
Some peoples sole intention must be to just come on here, be a dick, and point out everything they domt agree on and see wrong.
If you're going to point out something you see wrong, how about some advice with that? And not talking like every word you type is fact.
Anyways, I hope your grow went good man!!
I'm working my way through my first scrog set up now and things are going okay. Just finishing up week 1 of flower.

The lights don’t bother me in picks. Not like you were asking for advice on plant problems etc. I think that’s when most of these lurkers get pissed. I’m running a 1000wt hps and I have 2 femmed blue cheese and 1 femmed chem dawg going right now.

Nice nice man.
I've got 3 White widows fem. Only got 600watts in there now, but hoping to get another 300watt in there this week.
Do you trim under your canopy? I've been gradually picking at some of the leafs that are losing their green from lack of light, but other than that I'm kinda worried about adding any stress

I was too at first but honestly they don’t seem to mind. I put my screens about 10” from the top soil and I trimmed EVERYTHING below that point that wasn’t an established top. I picked at a few leaves before flower on two of my girls and never made much difference. Then about two weeks before flower I defoliated the back one pretty hard to see a comparison and the back one exploded. My advice on defoliation is leave whatever’s sticking out the top that has reached the canopy alone and trim any under growth that hasn’t or won’t. And you should only defoliate if your environment is in check. As long as that’s in check then the only stress you’re putting on it is the trim and they bounce back pretty quick from that so long as temps and humidity are in optimal ranges. Usually in a couple days you’ll notice the difference. Then every couple weeks I peek under and pinch off any new growth. I will also reach down in the canopy and trim out any smaller shoots that only come up a few inches or have really far node spacing and only have one or two nodes. I like my tops to have at least 4 nodes catching light.

The point is to remove small growth since it’s stealing food and energy from the rest of the plant. By trimming the plant we focus the energy and food into the areas we want.
