Can someone test the 72 hours darkness before harvest myth...

Hey! Look at that! I just noticed I can roll a joint now! SWEET!

I just figure since I have read that "resin production happens in the dark cycle" That it would be good to let it go a while in the dark. I always have wonderful aromas! works for me!

I also just did a water cure on some that was in the dark for 48 hrs and It's my daily smoke strain. That shit hit me like thore's f'n hammer!

After doing a little more research on this subject, I have found very little scientific help on this matter. But what I have found is basicly what we've been ping ponging around already. Darkness helps produce sugars. I did find that 72 hours of dark may be 24 hours to long and that white strains react best to this dark period. I read one article that was study on 3 plants. Each were left in the dark prior to harvest for 24, 48, and 72 hrs. Acording to this one person, he noe his friends noticed any difference. I'm still gonna go with a dark period before I harvest. Only I think I'm just going with 48hrs. From what I've read, those who have tried this say that's what they stick with. I'll give my plant light tommorrow and then to the dark she goes. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes.
lets see and i quote " Darkness helps produce sugars"" mmmm for some odd reason I was told that plants made sugars from a process called Photosynthesis 6 CO2 + 6 H2O → C6H12O6 + 6 O2Carbon dioxide + Water + Light energy → Glucose + Oxygen
..............do you see the words light energy ...mmmm just sayin this is the kind of research your ganna get you people just keep relaying on complete strangers gut feeling on the subject ..if we all just pich a dollars i can get the ball rolling

So I may not be the smartest guy on the planet, most the info I got was from other sites like this where everyone's an expert. I tried to explain that I found no real scientific evidence about this. So, like many before me I just shared word of mouth from other growers. I did however put my plant in the dark for 48 hours aand noticed a huge increase in smell and frostiness. Also noticed a few more trichomes.

somebody needs to e-slap the dude askin for money. 70 an 8th is ridiculous. yes photosynthesis generates sugars but plants continue this process day or nite especially in the big fan leaves read up on your shit. also this would cause in increase in resin production in an effort ensure to breeding before it dies. sometimes i skip a light cycle during flowering and it will produce same results. the reason we harvest in the dark is to, prevent thc decay, less fluid in stems and stalks, and prevention of full photosynthesis causing the creation of chlorophyll. there you go summed up for you 48 hours darkness before harvest is more than enough. i agree it will help produce trics and resin wont improve taste.

I gave my plants a WEEK of darkness this last harvest.. and Of course I saw more change.. but then again , the plant were still growing in thoes 7 days.. I will always from now on give my plants 3-5 days darkness b4 chop..
