Thoughts on the Zeus 308 board?

+25€ just for a bigger pcb is a bit too much for my taste. It's a smart step but the XT boards should cost the same or maybe 80€.

Below is a pdf I got from one of the alibaba sellers. 34,50$ for a 288 board with LM301b is pretty cheap(42,10 incl. 22% custom fees) even if they use only the 2nd best flux bins.
I've talked with them and they say it's hard to find top bins currently because of the high global demand. If I want to have top flux and/or lower voltage bins on my boards I would have to wait untill they get some. That may sounds honest but one can still not be 100% sure that it's really SJ and SL bins.

If I ever buy any I would just take the boards without heatsink and driver to reduce shipping and custom fees. Heatsinks can easily be done DIY. Probably you only need a few c-channels on the backside to enlarge the cooling surface and its already enough, especially when you plan to run them below 100w. I would rather run two boards without as one board with heatsink if costs are nearly the same(incl. shipping/VAT).
4 boards + HLG-240 means only ~65w per board, 260w total and no heatsinks would be required.

I've heard Bava sells fake boards though, I would not choose companies who scam.

I was one of the ones who priced through Bava about getting some lm561c s6 boards, they told me they use lm561y diodes and not lm561c s6. At least they were upfront about it. I'm actually planning on ordering 2 of the lm561y boards. Cause from what I see with the datasheet, they are s6 bin now and have almost the same output as lm561c s6 bin for cheaper.

Yeah! Paper is patient! They can write whatever they want. I just wanted to bring them into play because they are even cheaper than Jerry's boards. Who buys them must accept that they may not be 100% genuine. 3030 diodes are pretty common possibly its not even Samsung diodes but old Philips ones with only 130lm/w.. Who knows? I would anyway order a sample at first to do some testings.

The xt board can be run without heatsink, the smaller version with heatsink kit cost the same (99). Id rather have a larger board which spreads the light and both version could be run at same wattage for the same price.

The xt board is similar in dimensions as the led-342 board from flower bologna. And seems to be able to handle similar wattage.
I dont understand why HLG doesnt have a board that does around 125w with no heatsink.

Those bava qbs look interesting but the grow im consulting for doesnt mind the extra $$, they want to make sure they have nice quality.

Another problem with china board is getting the same board every order: im helping someone doing a big led conversion. First we will try a few different ways of setting things up: CcTs, cri's, different sizes of boards and how to hang them.
Based on results and price they choose what to do with the rest of the flowering space. With china boards its very hard to say with 100% certainty that you get the same board.
Also, i like some of rhe horti range of led-tech, for tweaking specteum and such.
My guy has spent a lot of time watching gml and gm5 so he is in to all of that. Thats also why you see me on the far red thread.

I understand, I seen a post somewhere where the dude ordered 100 3000k and 100 4000k from a company in China. I'm looking for it now.

I dont really think that it matters anyway. The boards coming out of China now can grow, it's been shown that. What I'm worried about is quality control. You know these guys are just trying to jump on the hype and make some money. So unless they are taking the appropriate measures to ensure good quality, and you're looking for top quality. Then its iffy. But if you're looking to grow some weed with boards like these. I dont see a problem with them.

Anybody know where I can get a cheap 200mm x 250mm heatsinks?
Try searching heatsinks in Europe or Eu or something like that, theres an old thread here on riu. I like poweralia but they are spain based. I think theres one company called birmingham aluminium or something like that for the uk.

Well I don't know about low quality, counterfeit boards.. They could very well be top bin diodes. I just am pretty sure that these guys are just in it for the quick cash. So I'm not thinking they are going to take the appropriate measures to ensure 100% top quality, aside from entrusting the supplier.

Quick cash or slow cash it is cash.
What's the problem? A seller is on the market for the profit not for charity

I understand that they are in it for the money. But that doesnt mean top quality product. It's obvious some people seen a way to undercut these products and cash in. Check back in a year and see if they are still in business.

It doesn't even mean they are not top quality product. We should wait for some tests.

We are here for sharing information. a product has been quoted and I shared a link to find more info
