Flushing a myth??? Or a Mystery???

So as the title says Flushing a myth??? Or a Mystery??? Is flushing or not flushing a cannabis plant actually beneficial to flavor, weight, and potency?

When i refer to flushing i mean cutting off nutrients and feeding just water or a flushing agent for a period of time before harvest.

Im hoping we can have a civilized conversation about this based on facts and reason. No false equivalency!!!!!! If you have never done a side by side(same strain, grown, dried, trimmed, and cured at the same time.) comparison of your own smoke your opinion is invalid.

Bud harvested prematurely will also not be counted as its not finished developing.

I tried flushing on one grow (3 super silver haze) and it seemed to have no effect on taste or potency. but this may depend on what you are feeding your plants. I do stop feeding 2 weeks before harvest so this may have the same effect as flushing.a lot more testing would be needed to determine if and when flushing helps

In my opinion i dont think its as simple as always flushing or never flushing. I think that variables such as what nutrients/brand you use, ppm, ambient and radiant temperature from your lights, humidity, aswell as many other factors that involve nutrient uptake and transpiration make it impossible to be such a black and white topic.

I taper feeds and may water only.

Flushing is leaching. No need to leach the medium at the end of the cycles if you haven't got a salt build up.

I don't have any ground breaking studies.
My basic method is to
Taper ppm up then down towards the end allowing the plant to go to work on its storage. I don't feed the last week because it has plenty left to do its job.
Once I decide they are on the last week they are already done anyway for all intents and purposes.

I focus very hard on the dry and cure.
And not over ferting.

From my extensive research I came to the conclusion that water mixes the molicules reaction time to 4 tenths of its original transfer time. If you gauge the rhizomes in similar fashion you'd be incline to produce exasperated prismatic increases in small but sustainable increments. Until it all unravels of course .

Your reference to flushing above isn't flushing at all imvho.

Flushing is running 3 times soil volume of water through a plant. Which does nothing except create a swimming pool on the floor and kill baby rhinos in Africa.

I stop food and give just water the last few weeks...that's not flushing.

BTW.... I have flushed in the past and it made absolutely no difference in taste or yield. It just stunk up the bathroom and made my wife more crabby than usual.

No side by side photographic proof. But when most hydroponic bud tastes like chemicals instead of weed, there's something to be said about those who claim there's no difference. The same people who say flushing is a myth grow that shit i refer to as plastic weed. Oh and we can quantify these natural and foreign flavors with science so watch what you stand by.

Defending ANs dream of "use til harvest" yet no one wants to step up and differentiate their supposedly amazing unflushed weed from the Sour Diesel i just tried that taste like a garden hose filled with Ketamine, and not a bit like weed let alone sour diesel.

Explain that to us. If perhaps the "flush toilets not plants" camp would speak up from a place of intelligence and observations rather than theoretical? Describe their terpenes perhaps more in depth than fire, dank, or chronic? Oh you're bad at describing flavors? Figures, lol. And PPG paint mixers are always colorblind when asked to differentiate shades. Totally legitimate excuse. See I used to buy weed from a hydro buddy. I forced him to say it every time. And let him know why his product moved slow. The presence of those chems turns entire regions of smokers off. I think maybe some regions have broken taste buds?

If I feed full strength nutes am i fucked? What makes a plant smell like plastic and taste like lab chemicals? Is that why 99% of hydro tastes like grow product, over feeding? Until you speak up we can only assume your bud is the same plastic trash like you can buy at dispensaries and what you say means squat.
