Hey @kona gold . I am going to do a grow journal with the Kona Gold beans I have left and post to this Thread. I will start it this week and post over the summer everything that I do. I believe I have 6 left out of the original 10 still with original packaging. The packaging is very nice, feels high quality, I'll include pics so ppl can see. This will do a few things, show case your genetics, give people more of a reference point for Hawaiian genetics( your genetics) instead of the back and forth from everyone.

I do request though that as these beans sprout and move into Veg that you point out the phenotypes that make this strain specifically Hawaiian. What would be especially helpful would be is if you can provide some breeder insight or tips to make this grow shine. During flower I will run 11/13 or 10/14 just like the Hawaiian sun.

I haven't grown for 28 years like yourself, but I'm not a novice either, I've been around the block and around some very experienced people in CO, long before legalization took place. I experienced the legendary Colorado Cough, you can look it up on seedfinder.eu, the info is correct. I'm also not in the habit of disrespecting people either and that's why I'm going to do this grow, to give you an opportunity to chime in and educated us. Hopefully this grow will help other in this thread make a more informed assessment, time will only tell.

So @James Lilie , do you believe that if people have seeds from say Stardawg crossed to Tangie say, that when they pop those seeds and they are in veg, that they can pick the Stardawg dominant or the Tangie dominant seedlings?

Lots of South Africans, like Swazi and Durban. Lots of South American gold strains, thai and Vietnamese.
Also some of the best Afghani's and hash plants.

If Hawaiian strains come from all over the world, how can you recognize a “Hawaiian” strain? The truth is you can’t, because there is no such thing as a Hawaiian strain. It’s just a mix of landraces like most stuff grown today.
