First time growing

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum and just start three plants (from some bag seeds) about a month ago. I started them in some dirt out off my yard and seemed to do pretty good for about a week. 2 of them got about a inch tall and the other about 1.5 inches. But then stoped. I thought it might have been the dirt so I got some good potting soil and transplanted them about a week maybe a week and a half ago and still ain' growing and the tips of the leaves are turning brown. Any help and suggetions are appreciaed.

P.s. I been watering them every 3 days

Try watering every other day.
You want the soil to dry out between watering but not bone dry.
Also, are they in direct sunlight?

They get direct sun most of the day. A little bit of shade in the evening.

What so you mean by harden them off and no I have not feed the soil the soil I brought is support to have a time release fertilizer in it. I do think they did have some transplant shock, after I transplanted they looked there weak and droopy for a few days then started looking better. Idk about the watering I been watering every 3 days. Another member (oldschool) said I might not be watering enough. Are the Nematodes good or bad?

What so you mean by harden them

To put them into the sunlight a little at a time before they stay in 6+ hours of direct light. Get them adjusted to the sol.

The soil may have been too hot.(ferts)

Couple of back to back transplants may have them in shock.

Over water will make them slow down as well.

A lot of variables in play atm.

So what do you think I should do first or should I just see if there still in shock? If the soil is to hot what would be a solution to that?

What soil is that btw? You are at the mercy of the pre charged soil for 3-6 weeks.

If it were me, I would just water when needed and pretty sure it's not bi-daily yet for seedlings basically.

I would give them Some kelp or liquid seaweed since it reduces transplant shock, not saying go buy product.

Keep costs as low as possible, don't spend more growing bud than it costs buying it retail. Biz 101

If the soil is "hot" you would need to transplant into a neutral soil like Promix or a substitute. Seedlings like a nice smooth transition into life and nute heavy soils can be tricky early on..

Though like cx2h states there are many variables and a couple transplants like this could further set things back too.

Shit...could be the soil. My first grow was from composted garden soil. Problem. I learned what a cutworm was in my first grow. Nasty bugs underground and cuts into the stem/root just below surface and can eventually kill plant. I solved that problem knowing very little about growing but.. what i learned was never to bring untreated soil inside to grow.

I was wrong about the fertilizer in the soil. The soil is kellogg organic potting mix. It says it has organic nutrients in it.

Two of the plants looks like they grew a little last night and look a little happier. The other still looks about the same. We got a ot of rain yesterday so idk if that has something to do with that.

What do you mean by flux up the micoherb? Also I used to work a a citrus nursery and my boss would tell us to cut off the leaves that looked bad when we saw them. Do you think I should do that? Thank for all you help

That burning you see is from the time release fertalizer's. Time release fertalizer is very bad for cannabis plants. Don't know why but it always burns them up. Next time buy pegular potting soil without fertalizer mixed in and invest in some quality food for your plants, like Mega Crop.

I was wrong about the time release fert. The soil says it has organic nutrients in it.

Also i need to now when is the latest I should try to germinate seeds. I live i central Florida. My buddy gave me some more seed the other day and I put them in some paper towels to germinate them (3 days ago) and 8 of them opened up so I put them in the dirt to day. Also i don't want to have to order anything off the internet, like my fertilizer, so can y'all give me some suggestions on fertilizer i can buy from homedepo or Lowe's I can use on them.

If I gotta buy soil and not cook my own. HD has black magic, I like that. You may get lucky and find some happy frog soil in there, I like it better. I like MG organic care soils in a pinch. I work with clones mostly and they eat the same as the momma plant they came off.

I used Kellogg's in my planters outside last year and my plants outside this year are looking fuxed up atm.

They look better but that FL sun is giving them heat stress. (The curling up) they will adapt though.

Microherd are the microbes that actually feed the plant in soil. They die off or go dormant in drought conditions.

Water when you feel no moisture on your finger when you stick it in the soil up to your first finger joint or weight of the pot feels lite.

This month would be ideal. Florida gets that cold spell in December when the citrus farms freak out. They should be done way before that though.

Lowe's has Sunshine #4 mix - if you want that ( $24.00 ) kinda pricey but a great brand.

Trust me on this soil , it grows very well and is relatively cheap.
... Because there will a shitload of haters about this particular brand . I only share what WORKS ... I don't bullshit anyone wanting to know how this does indoors. It is a LIGHTLY PRECHARGED peat based mix. It works fabulously. All my seedlings START in it and or go into a container with it for a full grow.
It will not burn out of the bag ... Soak your seeds for a few hours to hydrate ... Plant seed in and water slightly to moisten and go have a sandwich. It does not compact when wet and is more aerated than other mixes - so I do not add perlite to it. It dries fairly quickly within a couple days so keep that in mind. I start them in standard solo cups until they are old enough to plant as a plug. You will see the seedlings grow with speed and color.
I add nothing , but water.



The other mix I use is from Home Depot - Dr. Earth

This is an ORGANIC based mix that has OMRI rating if that is important to you , to me not so much. It is a more compact mix when wet and recommend perlite for this one.
Think of this as a FOX FARMS OCEAN FOREST MIX LITE ....... It is full of mycos and other goodies right out of the bag and will carry growth easily for 5 weeks before needing nute help.

I also combine the two mixes occasionally- Dr.Earth at BASE 1/3 of container for a CHARGED mix and top off with the peat mix ( which lets roots run wild ).



There is no need to drop a lot of money on bags of soil ... I stop using FFOF only because I get more from my plants with these . They will begin tap out near the first 2 weeks of flower but I am already getting ready to use bloom nutes by then. Also be aware there are strains that will be heavy feeders so your mileage will vary .

Depending on strain - I CAN feed a light veg mix 1/2 strength or as I normally start , I use a foliar feed . ( Dr.Earth ) it works fast on setting up early vegging plants this way then can be used as FOLIAR BOOST SPRAY like Optic Foliar Overdrive ( which I use too ).

If I am going for a long veg stage , then I begin feeding around 2-3 week of veg THRU transition ( 12/12 flip ) then use bloom after a week or so AFTER FLIP.

Nute choices vary among growers - some swear by multi bottle brands , some like SIMPLE 2-3 part mixes or even just megacrop. Currently I use GH Maxigrow and MaxiBloom ( powder ) plus keep CALMAG on hand as needed. I do LED grows so CALMAG may be needed from time to time. These work well for simple pot containers .
Actually you can just buy the MaxiBloom ALONE and use that from start all the way thru harvest. Good stuff. I prefer powdered nutes as they are more shelf stable than most liquid nutes that separate or clump over time. Damn you DYNAGRO! ....LoL



Dr. Earth is another good brand that I use - simple and FULL of ingredients that other brands may not have in it , like kelp , molasses , insulin , aloe Vera , humic acid . It stinks like shit ( feces smell ) , but does not have sludge or bio solids . Plants really like this shit .
1-2 capfuls per gallon water then ph to 6.5 your golden. I use tap water , NO RO or unicorn piss.

The " liquid solution " ( 3/3/3 ) I got on Amazon , but they have powdered nutes at Home Depot. Look at FLOWER GIRL for bloom , it is another powerful bloom nute that is cheap and effective.



Megacrop is the easiest .... 1 part mix - add water ... That's it.

They are Cali based and ship quickly all over the states. You can visit there site and get free samples ( I got like 8 bags of FREE .... Hee hee ) , but yet to run it because I am going thru the other ones first.
