HLG550 vs Gavita? Anyone with experience with either/both?

You can quote that's nice. Again where is your experience using either so that you can give advice to someone else............? How can you give pros and cons when you have not used the products. Have you grown any mmj at all? If so what setup did you use and do you have a grow thread?

I dunno, science/physics maybe? I mostly mentioned the electricity savings and lower heat output.... you dont need to own either to know that 600 watts is going to save you money and heat over 1000 watts.... Sure I mentioned the 600 replacing a gavita, but again im just using science/physics here. Sorry I cant SHOW that.

Yes, you can check my grows over on the microgrowery subreddit under the handle /u/skoomd1. Ive got 2 single ended 600w hps grows under my belt (though these were several years ago, i dont have any pictures but each time was a bit under a pound), 2 blurple grows under my belt, about to finish 1 grow under samsung strips, and just started another grow under samsung strips. You can also look in my signature.

Can't speak on the hlg600 but the 320 watt prototype I tested ran the same mid 80's temps as the 600 watt blue mh that was up in the 3x3 beforehand.

You don't want to keep your tent below 80 if you're using white light LEDs. In fact, you want to keep it above 80. This is because LED doesn't put out the infrared light that an HID does, and you want your canopy temps at or slightly above 80 to aid in transpiration.

Exactly my point .And then you see another thread where's he's asking about which light to buy but still telling someone how much led wattage to replace a 1K hid light smh.

Alot less water uptake/growth I'd personally rather have my room at 90 than 70 with led.

As far as an hlg600 giving you 3lbs per 4x4 imo that is extremely unlikely maybe impossible with a strain that is good quality. If you had say 3 hlg 600 over a 4x8 with co2 it might be possible to get 3lb per 4x4. 1.5-2lbs out of a 4x4 with a single hlg 600 is much more reasonable/achievable with a good quality strain.

Sorry I meant to space that more I didn't want to make another post. that was a response the the conversation that was going on just before the temp question someone was talking about getting 3 per 4x4 with gavita

Haha yeah I'd have to see a 3lb per 4x4 to believe it 3oz per square foot is a ton of bud my goal is always 2oz per square foot
