Flushing with R O water

I’ve been doing this for 10 years and added and dropped so many nutes over the years. Finally have my own sort of feeding plan that is utilizing a less-is-more attitude. Anything around or below 600 ppms will cause a fully mature plant to start cannabalizing itself correct?

That being said, I am sticking it out with my current feeding program and will STEP UP THE NOTE TAKING. I mean... this is a science

Less is more .
Every plant n strain will feed different & depending on what happened in veg could change things too. If you where feeding at 1200 n everything is good n you give her 600, she will start eating herself .

I got big desk calendars fr Staples that you write the date in. They have worked out well.
It’s probably one of the best things I’ve done
For my growing , with 8 difference feeing it was easy to forget what got when where etc

Good call for sure! I take light notes on a note pad. What food, p.h., date, etc...

But I am going to get real detailed about it. Water temp, ph, ec/ppm, plant charecteristics, yields... this is going to be fun!

This! It was a total revelation for me when I stopped blasting my plants with all that 0-X-Y NPK nonsense (X= a bazillion, Y= a metric shit ton) that nutrient companies peddle. I keep my NPK fairly balanced throughput now and IF my girls ask for it I add a bit of extra P or K to my normal formula.
High PK boosters have no place in container grows. Unless you are filling your pots with soil from the yard. It's good to see others are finally on board too!

I run my RO into a 50g barrel with a float valve
In the barrel I have a fish tank heater (68-69) and a pump attached to a hose on a reel , I always have 50g on hand .

You will want to get a bottle of ca/mg
I put that shit on everything!

I agree with @NanoGadget @MichiganMedGrower
I bring my ppm up till about the last 2-3 weeks then lower (tapper off)the ppm
The last couple waters is just RO.
No flush.
I do over water a bit once a week , enough to fill up the tray so it’s easy to stick a meter in there to see what the run off is showing .

I also run 4 plants under a DE 1000
10g pro mix .
Hey bro could you post a pic of your pump + hose + watering wand/tube I am looking to get a different one

I don’t like wands and pumping right outta the 50g. I fill a 6g bucket with 5g so I have room to mix , I find when up n going each set of 4 drinks a bucket a day. Early n late I give every other day (all depending on weight) . I had this room setup so it was all automated, but went to hand watering for bigger plants n you get more out of the space.

I also have another 50g that I just transfer out of this, same setup, just not hooked to RO.

Thanks ! Yeah I use just your basic pump with a length of 1 inch tubing and if I want to stop water flow I have to kink it. Im taxing my back bending over to water every three days and thatd getting pretty old! I need a water heater too, obv I don’t give them ice cold water but it could be warmer thats for sure

flushing is really only important if there is an issue and you are trying to reset the medium... I still flush for 1-2 days on my hydro system, but mostly cuz im lazy about cleaning up after wards, and let my used buckets pile upa bit before cleaning day... fresh plain 0 water helps it not be a big stanky goopy mess...

That said... at 800ppm from the tap, send that shit to a lab for testing... and encourange your neighbors all to do the same, and make sure you are filtering any water you are consuming.... 800ppm in the Flint area is like, brain damaging amounts of lead kinda dangerous... get the tests done yourself, its only like $30, and if you think local government is shady, send it to a different county. (Ottawa county sends all water testing to Kent county lab)

That may be literally toxic water bro...

Hi. Did you buy a portable ro filter, or one that you hookup under the sink? What size did you get?
My well water is is around 800 ppm and I'm seriously tired of buying distilled every week. Been reading and researching a bunch on them.
Good luck with your future grows!
I bought aMicroRO system. Hooks up under the sink in less that 10 minutes, no tools.

Everything cost about 130.

Question

I use RO or Rain water for everything, I run coco DTW, so before I add any nutes I add 1 gram Epson and 1 ml Cal/Magic per gallon. That will put me in the 120 ppm/0.24 EC range then I begin adding my nutes.
I am in the final week, adding the RO with the Epsom and C/M at the same rate and no nutes to my rez with the existing nutes, basically just lowering my ppm until they they get close to the 120 ppm of the RO. I am using about 2 gallons a day, so thinking just add two gallons to lower the ppm/EC gradually.
My question is, should I continue adding the Epsom and C/M all the way to finish or run straight RO now until finish?

I'm on a similar quest to find out. I use RO water exclusively because I am on a well. My RO water doesn't have much in it for the plants so I add cal mag all the way through flower cuz it gonna need a bit available. I also add a 1/4 to an 1/8th dosage of nutes as well to bump up the other stuff I removed. I wish I could use my well water non-water softened but my water is very hard and has very high Iron levels in it.

My last 2 , sometimes 3 (if I want it to finish just a little more)waters is just RO , not even ph’ed . Your medium will buffer it .
