New style Samsung LM561C Board

I've done some macro's of real LM561c and added yesterday's macro from the board. For me the pictures say everything! There are no LM561c but only Epistar or whatever ... Typically chinese mentallity, I would say ...!
Even if you get 3 times real Samsung diodes, that does not mean you'll always get true Samsung diodes. You'll have to let it slip during the trial that you're going to verify the authenticity on every single diode on the board, then you'll probably get real ones as well. But not for $ 35 ..., LOL!

True LM561c
Real LM561c on F-Series strips3.png

Fake, probably only Epistar or so..(copied from pg.4)

Fake LM561c probably Epistar or so....png

The ESD device is almost invisible on true Samsung diodes, while it is visible as black dot on other brands 5630.
Sorry, but I asked for a macro on the first page to verify authenticity but noticed the shot only today on page 4! Otherwise I would have done it earlier.

is that 2nd diode from the 8 boards OP purchased from jeff @ tophs or whatever? so conclusion is they are not LM561C? should also measure 5.6mm x 3mm although they'd prob be smart enough to at least use same sized diodes, they almost look like different sizes from the 2 pictures ...

Nope, the size is the same. Both are 5630 but the fake diode probably only give 150lm/w ... if any. But costs only half as much as the Samsungs, Lol!

the diodes likely won't be the exact same size. the diode contains components and a "shell" also with Samsung the rounded corner around the inner part of the diode is "round" where epistar and sanan are more straight cut at a diagonal

so then a 336 board measured at some distance away from light, a meter will read no more than 49000lm/w?

still not clear what is funny

even on your fourth picture of the samsung f series strip, there are several diodes with a visible ESD device or whatever so i'm not sure that is conclusive evidence

Oh, it's not the first time this happens. A few threads exsist where these boards have been debunked as fake!
And it make me smile when people think, they could get real Samsung diodes that cheap. Even if you get true LM561c it means not that you get the top bins.
only way to really know is put it in a sphere i guess, independent 3rd party testing, all the cool kids do it ^_^ i guess it's worth to pay the extra few bucks for a QB, mine have been performing excellent so far

Ah, so you're laughing at someone else's potential misfortune, and has no bearing on your life whatsoever, but you find it necessary to express your contempt for someone you don't even know... got it.

8*45 = 360$ - better than ordering a bunch of cases

Every single diode on the strips looks the same but don't want to upload 72 shots.
I do not want to destroy anyone's dreams, I just want to help that you get what you ordered an not get ripped off.

these diodes from your samsung F series look very similar to the ones you are claiming is fake based on appearance. i don't think you can base it off appearance only. par meters will let us know maybe @chuckduck can borrow one from a hydro store or something to test

and also, in case you didn't know, manufacturers retail their products for much higher than they wholesale them because they can't undercut other people and need to honor MSRPs - so it's very likely a wholesale customer could sell them at 25% or even 50% discount than you would get them from samsung themselves and still make profit ... price and the appearance of 2 cherry picked diodes is not conclusive evidence at all

I laugh because they all fall on the same scam, though the web is full of reports of fake supplies from China. If you have ever used the search engine or ask before you buy? If not, I have no pity!
Malicious joy is always the best joy, or do you not laugh when a bird craps your neighbor's car and not yours?
But do not think that does not happen to me!
I already got some fakes from China because I made the same mistake (fake Arduinos is just one example). So basically, I also laugh about myself!
I have been here for several years and always try to help others and as I said, I asked a few days ago for a marco shot, to verify if they are true or fake so that not more people suffer damage!

Okay, only for you I will do some more macro's. Do you really think I want to make these boards bad? Why should I do that? And do not put me down like someone with malicious intent. If I had that, I'd let you buy the fake boards and laugh about it instead of enlightening you!

digikey sells lm561c diodes for $0.11 retail, in the US, im betting the diodes are likely half that price in china. putting each diode at around $0.06 each. 300 panel board is $18 in diodes and the PCB is a couple bucks, so maybe $23... it's not unreasonable to think one could get 336 samsung diodes on a generic pcb for around $35...for s6 bin

It makes me smile that you swallow what the resellers give you.
