when and why did people start considering their dogs human beings?

i love dogs, have had a few in my life, and i loved them all, even the ones that ate the corners off my couch and chewed up my new belt. However, they're dogs, not people. they don't go to restaurants with me, they don't go in the store with me, i may take them in the car, but they don't get to go in walmart with me, they wait in the car(with water and shade).
you don't have a DOGhter, you have a female dog. I don't want to see pictures of it's graduating class. I'm about to kick the ass of the next person who brings a dog in a restaurant with them, unless they're blind. if you're blind, its a service animal, and you can take it anywhere you want, and i have no problem with it. If you have insecurity issues and can't go out to eat without your dog, then fuck you, order in. you're insecurty doesn't entitle you to bring an animal into a restaurant, your rights are no more important than mine, and i have a right to go out to eat and not have to smell your fucking dog while i'm doing it.
and quit buying them clothes. they don't like clothes. the only dogs that like clothes are inbred weird little dogs that would last as long as it took a slightly larger animal to get hungry in the wild. and the only reason they like clothes is they don't have enough body mass or fur to keep themselves warm, because assholes bred them that way so they would be small enough for insecure weirdos to carry around in purses

Some people get it and some don't.

dont like me my wife my kid, or my dog...chances are I dont like you
they look at me as the alpha pack member of their family
I owe it to them -and it comes natural to me-to treat them accordingly

dogs aren't people, and when you treat them like people, you are causing them psychological damage. a dog pack has its own rules and hierarchy, that dogs follow mostly by instinct, partially by the behavior of the other dogs. when you go against that, you're just confusing the dog and making it act in a way that's unnatural to it.
read one of ceasar milan's books. hes a pompous ass, but he knows what hes talking about

you can't BUY service animal papers, they have to be trained to BE service animals. you paid someone for something you don't deserve to have, and you and people like you are fucking up a good program for the people who really need it.
you're exactly the kind of person i was talking about. you make things suck for everyone but yourself, and the next time theose people can do anything to hurt the program you're taking advantage of, they will. because of you and people like you who abuse it. you're the reason people don't donate to the program, you're the reason some people are against it all together.

Ok I understand this rant OP..i really do. It is being taken advantage of..i.e. "emotional support animals"
I think they should use certain breeds and trained dogs for assistance.
Short story of experience I had..2 stall bathroom and a lady has her great dane in there. I come in and coukd barely move with that big ass dog in the way. I accidently bumped him in the butt going for some paper towels and the dog growled at me and the lady went off on me. She wasnt blind and apparrently the dog didnt give her emotional support lol.
Everything gets taken advantage of it seems. " send me 50$ and I send you papers to bring your dog with you where ever you go." Pffff

psychological damage? I cannot recall a time in my life from birth to now that dog(s) were not part of my home. They all lived well into their teens and were very well adjusted. I've had dogs of all sizes and ages. I understand what you mean when you speak of Milan and pack treatment but thats not quite what goes on here.
If any of my dogs didnt fit exactly the way I need to them too in my life then I failed. But fortunately I must have been lucky for decades.

My current one a jack russel of 8 years- on her own sensed my disability early on and makes it her job to compensate for me.
My fingers are twisted up and holding on to items is difficult and painful sometimes. I drop everything all the time. we've made changes over the years to help but still happens, no whining here. my girl watches from across the room, or listens from another and when something hits the floor she's on it. She picks it up and brings it to me any way she can, just for the good girl.

this touches my heart in exactly the same way as when my child smiles -and my dog knows it
I was happy when my son moved out of our family home. I would be crushed if my dog did, so, whatever... lol:P

Restaurants and supermarkets are my big bitch. I was shopping once and this woman's shedding lab was leaving hair all over the place. I remember blowing it off the carton of eggs I picked up. Why should we have to deal with that if we don't have animals? What about the people with allergies you're exposing because of you're inability to be away from your pet for more than 10 minutes? Do your emotional needs outweigh thier physical ailments? Age old fight "My rights are more important than yours."

I think it's stupid people think dogs should be confined to the house and park, I think as long as your dog is friendly and well behaved take it anywhere you want, life would be much better if there were pets everywhere imo...now I don't take my dog to restraunts and some other places but for the most part if you have a problem with me bringing my dog to the store to pick up some bread then you can fuck right off
