Mind Boggled

Hey guys, I am going to sound really dumb after this question but I'm baffled.
Here goes, I recently purchased some seeds from NIRVANA through the Attitude Seed Company. These being Jock Horror. Now when I got these seeds they where very small and to be honest some look almost similar at both ends of the seed. Unlike most seeds I have seen which have a distinct fat end, that being the bottom and the pointy end being the top of the seed.
Now we all know that when planting the pointy end faces up. That being the top of the seed.
I,3 days ago germinated one of these Jock Horror seeds and no problems.
However because the seed looked almost identical at both ends, I guess I put it in the wrong way up and it hasn't sprouted.
Now because the other 9 seeds I have look similar I am wanting to know when the seed does germinate seeing as these look the same at both ends which way should I pot with the shoot facing up or down.

Hope somebody can help me out I feel like a right dickhead asking this. To the ones who can't hope you get a good laugh from this. As I have grown plenty before but never really bothered to check which way the shoot was facing I always just put the fat end in first and they always sprout regardless, but silly me never remembers which way the shoots where facing. I should pay more attention.
Peace dudes.

well, the shoot should be facing down when you put it in the soil... either way though it should sprout. you can put it in upside down it will still turn itself around and sprout, just might take longer...

Just watched a video on germination. When planting a seed in soil or any other medium from what I saw on this video you plant the seed with the root facing upwards. Any other way I'm told can effect the seed as it wastes energy turning its self around in the soil or preferred medium of choice. It is also prone to having the root dry out this way. The seed if put in with the root facing upwards. What happens is the root will bend over the seed dig in and then the seed casing will pop up hopefully out of the ground. Thanks for your help but from what I just saw your way off in your thinking. Not trying to criticize you personally but obviously there are people out there with better planting techniques than both you and I.
Peace dude.

where the hell did you find this video lol. heres a quote straight from the jorge cervantes grow bible: "Once seeds have sprouted and the white shoot is visible, carefully pick up the fragile sprout with tweezers and plant them in a pre-drilled hole with the white root tip pointing DOWN. Take care not to expose the seed to prolonged intense light or air. Cover the germinated seed with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of soil. Keep the soil evenly moist. Once the taproot sprouts, small fuzzy feeder roots will grow within 12-14 days." so sorry my friend but YOU are wrong...

Dude YOUTUBE and type in (Seeds-Starting and Planting) Watch the Video and you will see what I'm talking about. At the end of the day if your way works for you great, and I did appreciate your advice but it aint working for me. In all honesty the problems I'm having I think are to do with NIRVANA. I am not happy at all with these guys. Like I said in my earlier post I got my Jock Horror seeds and when they came to me they looked almost identical at both ends. I would normally pot them with the pointy end of the seed facing up. This I have always done and it's always worked. I never really took notice of which way the root was facing and for that I'm a dickhead. I have never had to because I have never seen seeds as weird looking as these Jock Horror from NIRVANA. I have planted 2 JH with the root facing down like you said and the root has grown but the seed has not cracked the soils surface. I tried then this video method with my other PPP seeds and bingo they popped out in about maybe 3-5 days along with the third JH I did aswell. So there you go. Just watch the video and then form your own opinion. If I offended you in anyway I sincerely apologise. As it wasn't my intention.
Peace.

Well I'm eating the humble pie today. The video I mentioned on youtube regarding germination. The confusion I had was because when this person plants his seeds he says to do it root up. What he was meaning was to plant the seed with the top of the tap root up,which would mean the tail of the tap root is facing down. So YES it's DOWN. My apologies to all who posted and I doubted. A big sorry from FATCHROME.

haha cool, did you get your seeds to pop in the end?
Yeah planted 3 PPP all have sprouted. Still 7 left to germ from the 10 I ordered. Jock Horror! they dont like me. I have 3 seeds left from 10 and 1 has sprouted. I am waiting on 2 more to sprout. I have 3 left from 10. So not too happy about that strain. They all germinated well they just didn't sprout for some reason. And before you ask no I didn't put the seeds in the wrong way lmao. I germinated all in paper towel and all popped no worries. Really dissapointed because I was looking forward to growing Jock Horror I have heard it's a kick ass stone and thats why I bought them. Apart from that I planted 4 bag seed all of which was doing great. But dickhead me put them in the direct sun after 2 weeks and they have burnt slightly, as it was 33 degrees here on the weekend. However the new growth is not burnt and they should come good. Apart from that I have 10 Lowryder 2 seeds I germinated 4 seeds 6 days ago using the greenhouse germination method. 2 out of 4 sprouted and they are probably the best looking sprouts of them all. Doing all outdoor this season and I hope most will be girls.
Peace dudes.

hi sorry to hear about your jock horror, ive wanted to try them myself but think i will wait to hear from better results from others. i agree with the tap root down also, but have heard if you germ in soil sometimes people place the seed sideways if not sure what end is up or down.
