I was going to turn a little ford festiva to electric. The old ones. Put a 5 horse briggs in the back with a couple 200 amp alternators to charge the batteries and even possibly partially run the dc motor.

I am an electrician. I fully understand it possible for solar to work. Nor only work but to replace outdated methods.

The only reason going green wont happen is from lobbying from utility and oil companies.

I love my little festiva. Thing get 50+ mph. I drive it hunting and fishing. Got some good little mud grips. Its a tough car. I bet it has 400,000 miles or better on it.

You could fit electric motors with power output wildly disproportionate to the motor it used to have.

With the monster torque you can get from an electric motor you can do both if you keep it light enough.
