Dont know if its a third but most strains do put on the most weight in the last 2-3weeks, this is the time when all the calyxs are swelling up with resin and putting on weight.

hey man, yea like everyone has said, there is marked weight gain in the last weeks. In my case, I remember thinking, wow, they should be ready, no? the trick is to leave them and allow them the time to finish their growth cycle. you will be rewarded with improved overall yield, but also your quality/potency/smokability will be better, though that also is a function of the curing. good luck man, and walk on!

I picked up a microscope and i don't have any amber trich's yet so i must have a few weeks left, but do you have any tips to tell when they are about to stop taking water as i want to flush for the last 10 days at least to get rid of any feed in the leaves stems etc..

Wait until about 60% of your pistils have browned off, you should then have around 2weeks left give or take a bit?

I only use superthrive after re-pots during veg, from what ive heard is that if you use it beyond veg it can slow flowering? try using mollasses if you want an organic late bud booster that actually works, its a dam sight cheaper too, and you can use it right up to the chop.
Superthrive i know isnt organic according to the uk soil association standards, but i think it is considered organic by other countries standards, but im not 100% sure of that.

hey there. sounds liike you're on the right track. I know a lot of people say one indicator or another. I have not grown enuf to have an opinion in that sense, but for what I have grown I use what fdd says, "you'll know, you'll feel it, you'll feel the readiness". sounds airy fairy, but I believe it. The colour of the trichs, their swollen nature, the tightness of the buds, all point to finishing I think there is value in experimenting with that as everyone's conditions are subtly different. and everyone has a different view of what they like best in their smoke. growing your own you have the option of slightly modifying your process to get exactly what ur after. Ain't it FUN??!! walk on, and play safe folks!

1tbs mollases to 1 gallon of water sounds cool to me, if your plants are doing well on that dose then why change it?
