LED for flowering

Hey Guys,
Im sure this has been asked quite frequently. But Id like to get it right.

Right now my plant is in week 2 of veg, so I have quite some time before flowering, however I would like to be prepared.

Currently I am running a 138W LED: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RWYCRB2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is growing great with that.

I have read that a 100W per plant is a good rule of thumb. Will I be okay with this amount of light for flowering, or should i pick another one up?

I want to use LED to conserve energy and all that jazz.

Any advice would be great!

Nope cuz its not 138W light
Led quantity: 46pcs x 1.5W = 69W
Keep reading cuz that light is garbage.

And how do you know its 1.5W/LED? And why do they say its 138W then?
Because it has an x amount of LEDs that can potentially be driven at 3 watt each which would make it "138" watt.

But actually it's only "--Higher actual wattage/Lumen output than others: 55W±3%"
Direct quote from their amazon page.

It grows, but every light grows.
It isn't very efficient though.

I used a Philips 75W Plant Light Agro-Lite BR30 but they have 120W if you need more light. I also purchased a 24" 75W CFL grow light to add to the spectrum.IMG_1707.JPG

Use a fan from the corner of the room for circulation and it serves as a great way to strengthen your plants stem and shoots. The circulation is a must to prevent burn from overheating and prevent mold and other problems like pest infestation.

During vegetation stage you want to use a light in the red spectrum for increased photosynthesis. This philips grow light from Home Depot puts out approximately 2700K just on the edge of perfect.

You want to keep that light at least 18"-24" away from the top of your plant. As you can see that Philips light has done fine for me.IMG_1576.JPG

That light can get in the triple digits if you're like 6" away lol!. But to get a nice 70-80 degrees, keep it ~ 18" to 24" away from your plant. With good circulation, what you see in the pic is what that light gave me.

I also purchased a 24" 17W CFL that puts out 7800K in the light spectrum which is towards the ultra violet end. So I had some help from that as well. From Walmart not to expensive in gardening.

I'm a greenhorn myself but I have two trial and errors under my belt. I'm a Paramedic and a Chemistry major at SDSU. I'm book smart on this subject but this third grow was the score finally.

I think I will pick up one of those lights for flowering and pick up a fan tomorrow after work. For now though I will keep that LED lamp and the 75W CFL I have. My plant seems to be doing well so far.

Thanks for the info!

My uncle owns a dispensary so I have plenty of exposure to how things work. I'm on my own with this one so I have questions myself about various adjustments and opinions on my rights and wrongs?
