What type of ballast do you use

I'm about to purchase a new light set up my 5x5 tent came in and now I need 1000w to push it. I'm wondering what's some good and tried brands of ballast? What do you use? And I highly recommend the vivosun 5x5 tent very nice quality few tiny pin hole light leaks but easy fix with a Lil bit of duck tape. Over all absolutely great tent and very happy with my purchase.

i use these ballasts solis tek they have the most par out put of any other . tested by growers house . there is a video on you tube. the hortilux is a great bulb i also use . they one of the best . and the hood i dont like it . suggest some thing the raptor hood . larger as possible like this unit . i am not saying buy this unit can buy a off brand that is just as large as long as its 8 inches . has to be a 8 or my opinion or its not good cools a lot better . http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Hydrofa...270421?hash=item5b113d8d15:g:OaMAAOSwd0BVyNcE a bigger hood has more foot print spread . a smaller hood has more death deep into the plant . for me i like to spread it out this is a 1000 watts lot of power can do 8 small plants easy most people seem to do 4 medium sized plants with 1000 watts what fan will you be blowing into them ? you will have to cool this light .

I use this bulb for flower, starting at one week after flip. And I use power box 1000 dimmable ballast with a vented hood . It helps control heat but reduces light output by 5/10%. Also my ballast is outside my room.
 
yes the power box is a solid ballast . square wave actually power box and a ballasts called badass both use the same square wave power supply very good . the solis tek uses a ultra high or fast power supply all 3 brands are very good . now the hortilux is way over priced there ballasts expose to be very good and all the best parts used anywhere . my opinion after reading about them they may be the best but for 600 bucks ! not worth it . would you even notice a difference ? power box builds a lot of good equipment and its solid . i bet you would not go wrong with the power box ballast if you could get a deal on 1

Hey buddy I haven't choose a inline fan yet BC it is winter and its cold as fuck I didn't think I needed it right away. I'm trying to spread out the cost the best I can.

And here is better pic of the hood its absolutely huge and all reviews on it a great everyone loves it. Let me know if u still hate it.

I've been worried about getting a digital ballast BC of the rf problem I have internet and a stealth grow and didn't wanna raise any flags in now looking at magnetic ballast now. Here is a pic of things I've selected. All reviews on these products are fananamal everyone loves these from the reviews and no obvious problems

Also guys I could care less about the smell so can I skip buying the charchol filter and just get a bad ass inline fan?
 
You say in one post you have a stealth grow and are worried about RF interference but you don't care about smell? WTF?

Edit: Also, the Solis tek ballasts are awesome. The one I have is brighter than all my maggies even after a cap change.

I really don't it is a stealth grow but I smoke soo much my house always smells like herb. Plus the smell is never strong enough to reach outside
 
Been growing almost a year and never had a smell problem. Not once and about 6 successful plants have been harvested. The tf worries me tho BC I need my internet and don't need some cable guy asking to poke around my house.
 
You will need a fan. You can get a cheap duck fan for 25 bucks for the winter . a non vented 1000 watts is heating a 10/10 area its 70f inside and 25f out side. Well insulated . your tent will be a toaster with no fan ! No comment on the smell . I don't know your situation . but I'll tell you they will smell your grow up to a 1/4 mile away dependi g on What your growing and which way wind is blowing . and rem when somebody commented about you already haveing more the. 1 post lol wtf man. Joke.
 
Yea I haven't made a new post in weeks been trying to do everything and learn more without bothering everyone. But I'll go ahead and pick out a cheap 8in inline fan to order with my lights I really like this solo tec ballast BC of what everyone says I'm just worried IMA skrew up my internet. I live out in the middle of no where so that's y I don't care about smell.
