no im not saying that.

everyone adding solar and wind (inverse square law means small scale wind is inefficient) is a teaspoon trying to move a mountain of crap. resources and energy (CO2 at the moment) that can be better used else where..

hemp is not as magical as you think. if it was the countries that are growing it right now would be riding that magical wave you dream of

all the time people like yourself shun nuclear power your doing the same as the people who deny AGW

your part of the problem...

again read this

https://www.withouthotair.com/

educate yourself before you come back claiming we can solve this with a few solar panels on our roofs and a piddly little windmill in our gardens
Holy crap. That's one thick collection of information provided by David Mackay to wade through. I'm trimming my crop and the harvest was good, I have not the time to go through it all, even though I find it interesting. This is not to say I'm disagreeing with you, just that "read these 200 gb of text and get back with me" is a bit unrealistic for discussions on a pot board.

How about the 10 minute TED talk that David Mackay gave for starters?

He's not jumping on the nuclear energy band wagon like you seem to be. He does say that renewable energy by itself isn't the answer but he also doesn't say nuclear or nothing.

One point that stood out for me was his comment about "read your meter". When he tracked his own energy consumption it gave him the motivation to find ways to reduce it. Dumb stuff like leaving stereo equipment powered up, battery chargers for phones, other appliances that use power when idle ate up a large portion of his energy use. Without changes in lifestyle, just a change in mindfulness he brought his own home's energy footprint down dramatically.

This pdf summary (10 information-packed pages) that summarizes the various topics found at @ginjawarrior 's link is a good starting point:

Soy is the only grain that has more protein. Cannabis seed is full of omega3 and 6 fats.

It is definitely a healthy seed. I buy hemp hearts and cook with hemp oil.

I'm starting the paper work to grow hemp myself next year.
Last year I helped a guy build some hemp walls for a cooler. Got me looking into Hempcrete.
Not sure your state but there seem to be a small handful who are issuing permits to grow. How is your process going?
I was looking at the building/insulating factor of it mainly. There is a guy building houses with it in NC I think.
I would love to use it but it's pretty pricey. But it has to come from Canada. It would be great if we could get some processing facilities across the US. Hopefully it will become a viable crop.

Ill agree to.

My point being that even though that putting solar, wind and growing a little food wouldn't fix everything but it adds up.

I don't think we will ever find a fix all. It going to take a combination of things to fix our problems.
Yes, and I'm working hard at finding that combination. It'd be nice to have some help, but Big Oil, Big Pharma and the auto industry seem to be the ones calling the shots in 'our' government these days.

That needs to stop or soon there won't be a world left to extract profits from.

KY at one time produced more hemp than any other state. It is legal again here but got to jump through hoops. You have to apply for an import license for cannabis through the DEA first then apply for the pilot program through the state. Its not a guarantee either.

No felonies or drug charges. For hemp. How ridiculous is that?

I'm hoping for the day it is all legal like any other crop. I doubt it will be though. Only the big boys will be able to grow it.

It will end up like the poppy plant. Big pharma will be the only ones allowed to grow it and patent medicines from it.

Hempcrete is awesome stuff.

I wouldn't want the pollen floating my way but we would find ways to cope.

The make pollen filters for green houses.
I would deal. Even if its a pain in my ass I respect your right to grow your crop next door to me. You can't control the wind. Sux you have to jump through all those hoops to grow but I wish you luck, pretty fucking good cause. How cool would it be that you might be responsible for making Hempcrete or panels, oil, paper ect cheaper for me at market. That's awesome.

It will be a small scale operation. I'll be in it for medicinal reasons.

its not as much reading as you might think

im not suggesting its nuclear or nothing but i am trying to educate people that nuclear isnt the boogey man that everyone thinks it is.

also that living off pure renewables (especiallly small scale home) is completely unfeasible without causing more damage to the planet by taking even more land away fro nature

if you outright lie to the public, exclaiming your position to be X on an issue, then charge wall street banking lobbiests a quarter million an hour exclaiming your public position is a false front where your true position is Y,two faced lying should make a person inelligable to hold any public office .

The latest wiki leaks bombshell of Hillary's leaked speeches to the robber barons proves her to be unable to tell the truth.

What the fuck ever happened to the old days when truth was actually truth?

Now it's all spin with you crazy people. 95% of your attacks are right wing spin and if you have any objectivity left, you fucking know it.

Nobody has to spin Trump's words, all one has to do is repeat them.
