Thanks desertrat! Answered my question. I'll pull it and hope for a large space between the floors. I don't think there is tho. Whats the minimum space I'm looking for? 6in...12in? Thanks,

you could take your closet door off its hinges and cut something like plywood or styrofoam to fit the hole.that way you could set up an inline fan and run it through a activated carbon filter...

i seriously would not recommend that you flow the smell between floors. smells could possibly get through to the person above you. smell and heat needs to be piped outside and not to confined spaces

I have a small setup in my closet. in my apartment. i went and bought a door blank the same size as my closet door, swapped hinges, and BAM. u can cut whatever vents you want... as for intake & exhaust, the exhaust goes into my room, and the intake comes from the a/c vent in my room... this way it prevents the air from recirculating in the room, without venting it outside... look...

by the way... this is my first grow, how am i doing?

I mean this is in theory right. Get the ducting to run along the bottom of the edge of your door with holes just pointing the air to be routed outside the room under the closet door.you said you had a 1/2 inch.i mean its not the best idea but it might work.just put the filter to it before the door. you do have space in the closet to work the ducting around where you want ti.and dont always think on the floor

My dad actually had a really good idea I think.

He told me to just remove the doorknob from the door and pipe my fan thru that hole. It would only be about 2 inches, but I think I can squeeze a 4" dryer tube thru it. Any comments on that idea?

as those guys on the guinness commercial would say.
"BRILLIANT!"

hey man whatever you think works. however, it is probably going to look rather conspicuous if anybody sees it!

idk what kinda floors you have but if your going to have something coming out of a door then i would suggest placing something(wall unit, television) in front of that door, maybe on wheels so its easily movable.

:joint:just got my budd box! damn had to toke a boll after setting it up, a whole 10 min. ITS HUGE! i mean i never pic or measured 4x4x6.5 to be this big. lol, it takes up half my bedroom but it sure is clean. I started out for the closet and was going to go for the fake closet door route but atic axcess is in my closet ceiling in my apt and that a made me nervous. So i got a tent for 95, id prob take the smaller one next time around as i only use a 400. i gotta go to hd and get duct reducers and hope my duct reducer can vent my cooling hood!:-?:joint::hump::hump::hump: get a tent go smaller lol

nbot sure its been suggested or not but if one of the walls in the walkin closet is the "wet wall" ie: houses all the plumbing for the bathrooms and your dryer vent as well usually then what i would do.. and yes its gonna damage a bit but you can always fix it... cut a hole in the drywall into the wet wall which is usually constructed with staggered 2 x 4 construction to allow for plumbing ... anyways cut a hole in the sheet rock and tap into the dryer vent.
you can usually tell if it comes thru that wall and at what height by looking for the dryer vent outlet on the outside .
so if you can get to the wet wall and tap the dryer vent as long as you filter the air first noone will smell a thing and then patch the hole before you move out to get your deposit back

:leaf:just got my bud box up! works like a charm, was worried bout temps but i just ran a check with 400 hps and the duct reducer fan i got from htg garden for 30 dollars and i actually lowered the temps of the tent by a few degrees! Kept it at 83 F constant. I have a passive exhaust and i cud feel air being pulled in with my hand. :fire:LOL, good news, i can relax now. Well now i gotta worry bout charcoal filters, but i only got one plant to worry bout this grow, my first.
