if youre using well water it helps to add a little bit of pool shock ..... i couldnt root a clone for shit till i read that a few months ago i just add a VERY small pinch .....
never would of guessed that nasty shit like chlorine would actually help them root

I don't think its that hard.

Tap Water, clonex, no pH....

Used a turbo cloner and all my clones sprouted in a week. Changed the water and added in some Orcha and 2 days later my roots were shooting out. I even clones some tops because I accidentaly broke the mainstem pulling the plant out and even those sprouted in the same time frame!

I use a HD bucket with 1" diameter holes drilled in the lid and neoprene holders for holding cuts, a 360 clone spinner attached to a submersed pump. I can do 20 cuts at a time. I use a 13watt led light for low light levels. I get clones in 2 weeks into veg. peace

So.. I've literally made dozens of aerocloners. Sold em on ebay, was top seller for awhile before i just gave it up because USPS sux AND I've come to the conclusion that it's NOT the best way to make clones, UNLESS your plant is stupidly resistant to cloning.

So whats the best way? Rockwool and cloning solution. Put em in a propagation dome. Keep room temp low 80's. Lift prop tray about 1 inch above a heating mat on riser. Use the rockwool tray advice: keep 1/2 inch water in there = rockwool will never dry out. Add water as needed every few days. OPen top vent a little keeping 90%+ humidity. Any light thats not too intense will work. Flouro ftw. = 90%+ success rate. About 2 weeks before you should see roots if your mom cuts were anywhere near apical.

Another vote for aero cloner, built one out of the black box like above and one from a rubber maid container like stinkbud used back in the day, it held a lot more because it didn't have the predetermined layout. I Did a stadium with 60ish clones and had 100% success rate roots within 5-7days.

What solution you use ? R.o or tap water?

I dipped them in cloning gel, i just ran tap water. I let it sit for 24hrs without a lid to let chlorine evaporate. I'm sure the cloning gel didn't last long but it made me feel better. And whatever is in it that helps them root is now in the water.

have you used cloneguard yourself and seen it personally work for yourself and seen the difference with and without a dome?
Yes I do use clone guard and did see it work. before I started using it I'd see wilt (even with a dome sometimes). I'd seen wilt in an aerocloner too.
clone guard stops the wilt and kills any bugs that may be on the cut.

hey db i was wondering if youve ever tried Vita Grow Anti-Wilt Liquid Concentrate? and when and how often do you spray the anti-wilt spray? do you spray it no matter what, even if you arent expecting them to wilt? i clone with rapid rooters under a dome but the tallest dome i can find is like 7inches and i want to start taking bigger clones and try cloning without a dome like al b. fuct (somehow he clones in 50-60% humidity with no dome or wilting or spraying) but im scared theyll wilt and die in my sleep which is what happened when i did a 3 clone test run lol

one dip after cut is all it takes, Vitagrow anti-wilt was the first anti-wilt I used. It's pretty much the same thing as Flying Skull clone guard. All it does is coat stomata which stops transpiration. It serves two purposes the second is it kills any bugs that may be on the cuts by suffocation .

thanks for the quick reply man. so aslong as i use an anti wilt product i should have no problem cloning with out a dome as long as my humidity/temp is in check and i only have to dip the one time when theyre first cut, correct? my last question is since youve tried vita grow and clone guard even though theyre similar which would you say is better?

I like the flying skull only because I believe it's cheaper. not sure, it came in a flying skull nutrient package. You shouldn't see any wilt without a dome. No need to control humidity other than for obvious reasons which shouldn't include wilting, it stops transpiration dead. One dip and done.
I usually don't take real large cuts so I've never tried it on them but it shouldn't be any different than doing smaller cuts. Good luck.
