I cant imagine Riu cares what quality product [within reason] you're advertising, as long as you're paying for the space...
It's not that he's overseas, irrelevant. But he has very very many of the signs and symptoms of being fake.
Sketchy #1: bridgelux epistar like it's one company..? I know there's a gray area of crossover between companies but...
Sketchy #2:
Sketchy #3: what're you shading out in red? Bins?
Sketchy #4: a panel named CX but has no cobs included in the build... strictly flashy advertising.
SKetchy #5: square LES? that's not a vero or cxa/b.... do epistars have square LES?
And if you consider all this nitpicking, fine, I kinda agree, but there should be no question whatsoever to begin with. (Shrugs) they act like they're desperately trying to win you over, not prove something, but win you over with how much they attempt to advertise (personal emails.. [and then blur everything BUT the qtys and colors? that desperate?).
It's very clear they're using rebranded casings, unlike plc, tasty, area 51, Apache, etc that build there's to spec. Instead they're using the old school Apollo style one size fits all casing.
Big flag of generic parts is the customization personally, if you allow me to do that, then what driver are you going to use in place of your stock one to accommodate the new load? Seriously... ask em, see what they say. And if they say I'm just the sales rep not the tech, then.. well, besides the fact you're an uneducated sales rep, try and be proactive/resourceful and contact your companies technician and find out what it would take to accommodate your potential customer if you really want their business. Too much to ask to know what you're trying to sell? Personally, I don't think so.
They showed off their Heatsink compared to other companies.... cool, that's great. It did look better than the compare sink I suppose, "what's the surface area? How are you calculating it's cooling ability? Explain why this is better.. and don't say it has more fins." Again, you're just the sales rep? So what, I'm just a hobbyist... that sucks cus I'm not the one that's uneducated, or not informed about a product that I earn a hard living promoting and distributing. Bet your ass if my families well being relied on selling a product, Id know every inch of that product. And if my customer wanted a different orientation that required higher voltage, I'd be able to spit the part # of the driver I'd use in place from our stock before they asked.
Idk... it's not just one thing that pings, it's the combination of all of it. Now that I've helped him critique his website, ima stop now. It could still very well grow plants, but it's hard for me to believe anything he says.
