couple ounces prolly nothing to cry about, last time I weighed a crop I got 22 ounces from my little 5 X 5 garden but I mostly do seeded plants so I never worry bout yields plus I grow for myself, I don't sell it, I do give a bit away though

Here's the info I've accumulated so far for quality over quantity

Use peat
Sunshine #4 mix
Switch from mh/hps to t5
2 Cb6 fixtures from oracle per 4 plants
Pure uv bulbs from htg 36" away
Cleanliness
Proper humidity control 33%
Proper temp control 72f
Boil 3-5 days before harvest
Brown bushing (optional)
DO NOT DEFOLIATE
Less added nutrients
Sweat curing
No tent (barometric concern)
Ask RM3 (lol)

We're getting there lol. Some great info here. Please help me complete the list so I have all the info I need from seed to harvest for my next grow. I defoliated my cookie girls on this run but now I have the knowledge to not do that again lol. Next run will be platinum cookies.

Maybe we can get some wisdom on what to do to get the healthiest root growth through veg? I'm really feeling like I'm doing/not doing something that is hold me back in that department, and I'm pretty sure quality is affected..

Mine too. So far I haven't noticed anything that could be construed as a spectrum deficiency.

I can't quote the paper, but I'm pretty convinced from my own research that you want to target 315nm and no lower. UVC is nasty stuff and there isn't much at ground level as it gets absorbed in the atmosphere. Up to 400nm is nice, but not as effective.

I highly recommend a separate circuit you can shut off while working or to ALWAYS wear sunglasses and long sleeves anytime you go near such lighting.

Smoke some shit that's been drowned in MKP the last week before harvest just so it will throw more weight.

That's one answer. But it's also a cheap shortcut.

That said, nothing in my experience points to any hard limits. I really believe that yields can be continually improved while maintaining high quality standards. My belief is confirmed by years of testing and I don't think my yields are terrible, even while using equipment others would pass up because there's a yield penalty.

Even using 860W CDM Allstart lamps, I'm pulling down big girls. My best is 26 1/4z, and many hit 25.

I think that technology and technique, mixed with creativity and ingenuity, can marry to produce high yields, great consistency AND great flavors, aromas and potency.

I think the dichotomy of more vs better is a false product of binary thinking and oversimplification. There are no limits, only new options.

I may need to add some T5 UV bulbs to my flower tent, have been hearing about UV benefits fir a while now and this just helps drive it home. 2 24 inch UV bulbs enough for a 4x4 tent with a 600w hps? How long do you run the UV for?

I've done the experiment, I had a bud tested, it was 25% THC, O% CBN. I then left bud set out in the open air in my living room on my coffee table for a month, sure it was bone dry and crumble to dust if squeezed and then I had it tested again, it was 22% THC 1%CBN.

And as I said I regularly Brown bush plants, what is that you say, glad you asked, you simply set the plant aside whole, in the pot, without cutting anything, in low light for 2 and a half to 3 months then harvest the buds off it, some of the best smoke there is !!!!! Most will never know cause most won't wait that long for it. ask @ttystikk how that brown bushed Pearl smoked a few days ago ???

Have you tried low light levels for a few days, like just over compensation levels? Shaded buds look very encrusted. Maybe the optimal level for potency at the end is surprisingly low.

But I can tell ya that it's not a deficiency of one but rather many and most growers don't have a clue as to what it actually indicates

The streaked stem thing is a genetic trait, that shows under certain conditions same as the early amber trait

Most growers following forum stuff will never see em
