Well I have some 70's Afghan X Skunk #1 beans I'll be droppin soon, you are welcome to drop by and smell for yourself 8)

I also have some John Sinclair Skunk#1 beans (yes original)

If you're unable to drop by, I'll have other visitors post what they smell

And in my book I actually tell folks to get the scrubber first then learn how to lose the stink, I just never owned one cause I knew I could grow without it
This run that I'm doing does not require a filter at the moment but it's there in the room, ready to go. Very rarely do I not need a filter but on occasion yes it's pretty much odour free. As for the reason why, no clue, doubt it's what I'm doing though lol. Gotta say that the last two grows, with the addition of chilled water (hydro), amino acids, and a new benificial bacteria, have made for some very happy, green, plants. I use a locally blended nutrient that seems to work well with my water, and the addition of the above two items have made big differences in the leaves, with no more blotching and rust spots, no more premature die off of lower leaves and yellowing. Dialing in canopy temps by not chasing Res temps have helped as well, I keep the canopy a bit lower though due to height and light restrictions. I am reluctant to switch to T5's on the flowering side because yes I did try it on a side by and the buds were airy and not what I liked but the plants were always showing signs of stress, perhaps with the plants now it may work. Trust me I would love to use them, and I actually have 3 sets of 4 4' HO's :).

Only unhappy plants stink. Ok? Bye now
Did you start growing under white cobs or something? Not what I said, your straw man. Strip the "only" and don't take it so black and white and then it's statement generally more valid than happy plants don't stink. That's all I'm saying, no need to twist it in something else.

Relax would ya. I never meant to offend your country bud;-)
Lol... you should probably reflect that advice back as you're missing the point. The whole country thing is apparantly relevant to you, doesn't mean I care or it affects history. I would have said the same thing if I were in Russia or Mexico, I transcend physical borders... I think it's the haze genes bongsmilie

I agree running without a filter is unwise if there are neighbors or others close enough. Even in a legal state I wouldn't want my neighbors to know about my indoor grow.

I really only meant it one way.
Bro, the only place we could buy beans from back then was from over there. I had connects up in humboldt at the very same time and scored cuts from regularly. From my understanding, allot of the genetics over there came from here. The CUTS we would get back then from up in humboldt was some super stinky bomb ass shit. We went to amsterdam/netherlands to score beans of some huge yielders. It was fantastic. No doubting that at all.
Unfortunately over here, those oldschool type of strains don't cut it anymore.

When the bigbookofbuds came out i was so stoked. My buddy went over there and we got all kinds of newer strains back then. Pot o gold, original misty, Ak and a couple others. Now, They stunk! :-)
I aint trashing your homeland Sativied. Hell, if i could take back my comment using "dutch gentetics" as a whole i would.

But, i'm stickin with my charcoal filter comments.

Maybe with a small grow it doesn't smell much? I dunno.

I'm really baffled with this shit. I usually try to stay out of this kind of crap, but this is crazy!

Well grown pot plants don't stink= april fools? Lol

I do that all the time, trashing NL, as well as dutch breeders and the seed industry in amsterdam, and it would he hypocrit to take offense to others doing so, so I wouldn't either way.

Exactly, all same old shit going back and forth, especially the more succesful varieties. We're currently importing (back) OG Kush varieties... Noticed a shop with amnesia haze for 9.50 and some og kush cross for 18.

Unfortunately over here, those oldschool type of strains don't cut it anymore.
I'm just going to let that one go before we go in circles. :)

Or maybe with time/experience you get immuned to the smell because you live in and around it all the time?
Crazy!
I don't know, did ya read the thread ? Several members that have visited my garden have posted that it's true, did ya miss that part ? Hell you can go back 5 years or so to my old Balls to the Wall Thread and see where the first visitor posted, this isn't new nor is it an April Fool 8)

I guess I need to start this by saying I believe I owe the new growers here an apology. It seems the way that I chose to try and share a truth made me come across like a chest beaten ego fool and that was never my intent !!! The truth is that I am a humble quiet guy once you get to know me.

Any one can get on the internet and say anything and because I grow so differently there are many that cry bullshit to a lot of the things I share, like the fact that my garden never stinks, that I have never owned a carbon scrubber. Well, the only way I knew to prove it was to invite other members into my garden and sure enough they came back on here and reported that I was tellin the truth, my garden is wide open and it doesn't stink.

I have also tried to share that the herb can be better, you see I'm an old hippie that grew up in the 60's & 70's, I smoked that really good weed that the old timers remember. They say today's weed is not your fathers weed and they are right but have it backwards as your fathers weed was so much better than all the generic hyped fake strains of today and you simply just need to ask any old timer that smoked those old school strains.

But because us old timers are a dying breed, I once again invited growers into my home and smoked my herb with em. Once again they got on the forums and posted smoke reports and verified that what I was saying was true. And the visitors kept comin and kept postin, we would have nice talks, smoke some herb and share a few beans. Hell I have a visitor from Washington comin tomorrow, a smart dispensary owner lookin for an edge in today's growing weed market. 8)

I do realize that when I say I'll put my herb up against all comers that it comes across as boasting and egotistical but honestly that is not my intent. My intent has always been to merely share that there are simple ways to grow better herb and I have always known that the growers that grow for yield and money would disagree with me. My intent has always been to reach out to personal growers and medical growers that simply grow for themselves and want better herb, better medicine. Beyond that I merely wanted to share the art form to a younger generation so that it wouldn't die.

Look around, how many growers know about or are talking about early translucent amber trics? How many are aware that it is a rare genetic trait found only in Sativa's ? I have been breeding for this trait for years and I have several strains that do it, one even named Amber lol. And I give these strains away for free all the time to insure the trait is not lost !!!

I know as soon as I post this the trolls will come, I know they will bash the notions I share. flowering with T5's, canopy temps of 92 degrees, boiling the roots to speed up the cure, sulfur rich mediums, odd light timings. And when growers come in and verify these notions the trolls will call em my posse lol such is the way at RIU it seems, but I invite you to my journal to see that it does in fact work ,,,,,,

And I hope that as new growers looking for the best possible herb that you keep an open mind, think outside the box and try new things, experiment for yourselves !!!

clickin the pic will make it larger
