Interesting you would chose that light. Considering your height limitations. Here is what I found on their spec sheet.

Angle
Choose the 14 degree lenses when the light is more than 24" above the canopy.
Choose the 50 degree lenses when the light is closer than 24" above the canopy.

I would of opted for the AMARE SE 260 CR (Cree) and saved 3 bills and have a higher PPFD for better penetration.
It is one of the lights that I currently use. You also could go with the Epistar model and saved about 450 bills.
Here is what I got using a SE 260... Good Luck !

Now see..I was nice the last time because I thought you were offering help, but you obviously arent.Nope you just want to gloat and tell me what a fool I am, after the fact,in my grow journal.

Let me break it down for ya..

Im not an led salesman or a huge tech guy,but im not a fool.Ive spent some time coming to my decision, did my research and talked to several people who own and run these lights.

This thread is intended as a resource/journal for me and hopefully the community.Im not going to reduce this journal to a LED debate. This thread is placed in the grow journal forum in case you didnt notice.

So you can take your bowl of buds and shove shove em right up your ass.

Obviously you seem offended... I never said a negative thing about your choice. I simply pointed out the facts when I compared the two lights.. I also did the research and shared with you on what I found. You had tagged your journal AMARE. It is how I found it... Yes, I did offer some insight on why you were having issues, Why, because I have been growing with several different LED brands in the past, and used everything from incandescent to warehouse bulbs to grow. I have experienced a lot of those same issues in the past. Someone can own a Maserati and still lose a race to a ford pinto. So I will not stoop to name calling and simply unsubscribe to this thread. Good Luck with your new light... As they say Caveat emptor...

Yeah Apache's are sweet and pricey. High bin Nichias aren't Chinese diodes and custom optics aren't cheap either so they ain't giving them away like Mars/LG LED Solutions a company that has zero expertise next to Apache. Very polarizing opinion wise as you see Res but there are people who I know who aren't shills and they swear by Apache's ability and the company's willingness to work with buyers. They're a high-end company and they are still in business so to me that means they gotta know something. And don't Apaches use A- series MeanWell drivers? You could probably bump it up if you wanted but IMHO an AT200 is a bit overkill for your space and grow style and I would actually run it a little lower than 167 watts but then again it's what the plant wants, right?

You're gonna rock that panel I bet.

And remember folks, it's your wonderful governments that let people advertise like that because there are various consumer, environmental and import laws that it must be noted the maximum draw a device is capable of, not what it runs at. This doesn't matter anyway because nowhere on Apache's site do they say the AT200 runs at or draws 200 watts. They don't fuckin say what it runs at actually.

Edit: @Greengenes707, he'll know.

20160302_075827.jpg new led is hung, going to monitor temps and see where she likes the height.I may have to adjust my nutrient load as well,we'll see. Thanks for your contructive comments ladies and gentelmen.

And @FranJan when I initially contacted apache for information, they happily sent me EVERYTHING about these lights,I have full spectrum data and technical specs on this light.I will attach that data here as a resource. Not that it's not already out there, but still.

Have a happy day people.

Im going have to modify ventilation,I can already tell the heat load is greatly reduced.Im one of the lucky ones that runs a gas water heater, its in the next room along the wall next to my closet,so my passive intake picks up a decent amount of c02...time to close the closet door and go take a shower.

Later dudes.

So what does that panel equate to when comparse to a 600 watt hps?
I run HPS in my grow but the heat is killer and I'd prefer an alternative ideally.

Temps for me are stable at around 28 - 29 C

@Cornishi

This light has more PPFD than a traditional 600w hid, with a greatly ruduced energy/heat load.Currently im seeing a 5°f drop in heat load and im making adjustments for that now.And this is with fans off :)...I can actually close my closet door if I wanted to I think.Ill be modifing my ventilation.

People can claim whatever they want.

Im going to be buying an apogee par meter soon so I can fine tune height/lense combinations.

Also I have this im going to be giving her in the later weeks,to push her a bit.

I think im going to mount it with some 80/20 so I can adjust height and placement without obstructing my light footprint.

Will have to look into this in the future then. HID's are troublesome in my grow room due to heat. I'd love something that didn't pump out as much heat but produced similar results.

Oh so now anyone who has a different opinion is a shill.... Even though the one guy posted their specifications and backed up all of his points with the facts. What a joke... He even stated he didn't think APACHE was a bad light but was "overpriced" . When they worked with NASA (their claim to fame) the light they made was for leafy vegetables. Then all these burple lights came on to the market and the famous you can grow with a 135 watt light just like a 1000 watt HID system which was total BS because you would never produce the PPFD (photon density) of a HID bulb. These so called experts said green light was not used by the plant. Which again is another fallacy. You can easily read the latest research done by some of the major agricultural universities which have published white papers on their work. So maybe we are not "shills" but well informed individuals. Who are tired of the uninformed consumer being taken advantage of by snake oil companies stealing their hard earned money from their wallets... In the end it was your decision to purchase what you wanted. Now here is where the rubber meets the road. Are you going to journal an unbiased review? The good and the bad? If you post on a public forum then you should expect those who have a different point of view or opinion to express it. Whether you agree with that point of view as long as it is civil it should be respected.
In case you havent noticed, ive been growing with the amare light in this thread from the start.Ive never said the amare was a bad light,BUT IT SUCKS IN A SMALL CLOSET for me ok....do you get that yet??can you comprehend the light just isnt for me???like I've said already 1000 times...now if you can comprehend that simple concept we can move the fuck on.I dont care if the amare grows pounds of bud,I dont like to use it in a small closet.I was going to leave the amare tag to be fair, but now I see its only going to attract this kind of shit. Btw its amare that says their 220watt light is equivalent to a 1000watt HID...get your facts straight.Apache never claimed the at200 as a 1000w hid replacement. And "the other guy" didn't post anything I didnt already know..Ive been growing with this amare for months,I know what it can do,both good and bad.

Btw this isn't a burple light jackass...its uses high bin nichia white diodes along with deep red...so technically its a white/red light. You should at least bother to know what the fuck you are talking about before you take a shit on someones grow journal, dont you think?well informed individuals???...you dont know jack shit about this apache, dont even know the color of the damn diodes..just stay the hell out of my grow journal,we dont need your kind of input here,go find some threads in toke and talk to shit on.

Amare tag removed because it seems to just attract stupid controversy, what a fucking shame, gratz moron.Another couple trolls added to ignore.
