Here are a few pics of the seedlings I have (deep psychosis and DOG) for about two and half weeks. I keep coming home from shift expecting, hoping for some more vigorous growth. I have them in my small veg cab 6000lumens 5000K light via 23watt CFLs, cab is a little over two sq feet. Temps running around 75-80. Small fan drawing in air through vent holes. Water is through an inline filter, removes chloramines. Not sure of the pH although meter is on the way. Short period of some overwatering, but for the past 4-5 days have been letting the medium (baccto lite with starter ferts already in, I know avoid that but its what I started with.) dry out completely. Using small dose of natures magic (seaweed and humic acid) alternate with plain water, also had used very light dose of bloom ferts just twice. Thinking of giving them a good flush, they just seem to be stunted, although a few are growing out some smaller leaves with three on them and most of the pots have some white roots showing at the drain holes. I am not so sure about adding any nitrogen (I have fish fertilizer standing by) also foliar feeding? I have looked over other places on RIU for some insight but this is the first post of the plants, not very close, but I would like my plants to look like the others on here!

To me they look . Yellow leaf =hungry? I would hit them with fish nutes. I know you said, soil has nutes, but they look hungry. How many cfls, are in the cab?

I have 4-5000K CFLs, at first temp was in the mid 80s for about the first week, now things are running cooler, getting cooler here in the midatlantic, I was thinking of adding another light or two tomorrow. I did just flush the pots a bit so water would run out the bottom, and the soil had .85-.15-.10

They don't look too bad. I would stop with all these different supplements you are adding (I know Cali said to give them something). But it seems like an awfull lot of different things they are getting when straight water at this age is normally sufficient (especially when using soil). just my opinion though. Give them a good soak and then let them use that up and then another soak before throwing yet more nutes at them. That's what I would try. Turn the pots upside down (place hand over pot with plant stem between fingers to protect, then gently slip the soil mound out of the pot) and check to see what's happening with the roots.

I gave them a good flush last night. They have been getting mostly water, the natures magic stuff is something I had been using for years, grows out the grass seed (lawn) like crazy, it says good for seedlings and buffers ph, but it may have been building up some so hopefully the flush will do something for them. I am just looking to get this little cabinet dialed in so to speak, I am not sure about the lighting situation, and I think I could use some bigger pots judging from some of the pics I have seen on here.

I agree, at that age they should be fine on just tap water. How much water have they been getting? Normally yellowing from the bottom up is overwatering.

I have been letting the medium dry out between waterings for the past several days, as far as adding back in, I don't know, I water until some comes out the bottom, but for the first week, ten days, I was probably overwatering, also started in those peat cups which were drying out far too quickly so I put them in those pots you see in the pic, but I wish I had gone to a bigger size, I have pots here that are about two-three inches deeper, a little bit wider may transplant soon if there are no other changes. A few years back I had germed a few seeds for the outside garden, had four going but that took awhile too, but ended up healthy, until our hungry rabbits ate three of the four, and that was a male!
