Aside from free light, why would you grow outdoors?

I went from a SuperCloset Bubbleponics system to a large DWC to CoCo, now im thinking of going for a couple of table grows or large Ebb n Flow. However, I have been researching doing an outside grows and I don't really see the benefit. First off you have a huge security issue to deal with. Then there is all kind of bugs and critters waiting to get busy on your bud. But most importantly, everyone is saying that the quality is not as good. I'm not taking any sides I just would like a little insight.

I agree but certain measure should be met imo before outdoor growing a covered greenhouse and enclosed in at least windows screen etc to keep everything out. I did my first outdoor and got killed by bugs worms had bud rot due to rain for weeks. I did not give them much thought or attention. I would look at them and I seen were 1 plant had bud rot and I did not even cut it down or care. Now they all do ohwell bummer I missed out on prob 2lbs there only 4ft tall. I don't even care lol but yes next time will be greenhouse w plastic roof and plastic or screen around outside to keep worms bugs at bay

I'm thinking that with the greenhouse that you will loose a little of the suns intensity due to the plastic / glass in green house applications. That's why I stay away from cooled hoods indoors.

Don't have to worry about raising your light, when planting in the ground Mother Nature leaches so for me over feeding isn't an issue (intend to love to much inside). Sometimes you just can't grow where you are housing wise. Also you can grow monsters outside. I do both when the season is appropriate and the outdoors is a lot less work for me.

In a nut shell, the plant wants to grow outside, we need to make it grow inside.. It's all about how much your willing to put into it in either case

security doesnt have to be an issue. get a 90 plant doctor so youl be legal, get a big dog, and get motion detector alarms. and a crossbow with a light attatched to it. done. Harbor Freight motion alarms are ten bucks. set it on your night stand

The sun is too intense to be blocked by plastic. Light deprivation crops turn out like indoor. The cost is way less and it's fun. Bugs are manageable. Bud rot sucks but it doesn't rain here, so I got nothing for that, except cover with something to keep the water off the plants and top more to keep smaller main colas that can dry out quicker then the giant ones.

If you live in the right place the quality is good and the quantity is great.where i live it's hot and dry the quality is not as good as indoor.A Greenhouse with the right equipment grows nice high quality weed from top to almost the bottom of the plant.the buds and plants grow way bigger outside

Good points... I will just do both next season and see what happens. You never mentioned quality though. Whats better your indoor or out?

I like my indoor dank arse buds but the stone or high doesnt seem to last anywhere as long for me than what outdoor does.
Thats only my opinion personally ;)

Greenhouse seems the way to go I gather. I don't think the North East is a great environment for Cannabis.

Where I am indoors produces the highest quality, outdoor for the quantity. But that's not the case for everyone I would presume Cali is pretty damn close, it's hard to beat nature or even mimic it unless you have been inside for a while and optimize everything. I'll be modest enough to admit I'm not there yet and am pretty far off actually, but my dad can beat up your dad and this is he internet so yeah I'm the best indoor grower ever to live haha

I don't shit where I eat. Almost impossible to get a card where I am located. So guerilla growing it is. I'd love to do indoor.
You can get a fake lease, a crazy off hours schedule, and "guerilla" grow in the city too... I've done it successfully for a year or so...but I don't recommend putting yourself in harms way. Jail is really really boring trust me!
