6 weeks flower with no trichomes

Has anyone ever encountered sativa dominant seeds (randoms from nirvana) which have grown and developed budsites but no trichomes to the naked eye at 6 weeks after 12/12 flip? I would understand if they looked sickly, but they are all green. Maybe if the environment sucked or if there were light leaks, but that's not it either.

Sativas grown in a temperate climate do this, thats why indica / sativa crosses are so popular, either trash and start with a stable indica for your clime or increase that heat to the tropical that the sativa demands

where i come from they call it bammer... i say it has nothing to do with climate, just need good lineage/phenotype.

try more seeds or get clones from a reliable source...

I can't see nirvana shipping out "bammer" seeds even if they are freebies. I only have positive things to say about them.

nirvana sends 10 regular freebies with there 5 feminized seeds. i don't see them sending some random bagseeds with all there other reputable strains.

everything i have read on the many forums is that ideal temp is 75-85? is a temp in that range really too low for a sativa strong pheno?

My Super Silver Haze plants frost up quick compared to my Super Lemon Haze. Lemon takes 4 wks for it to start getting frosty. These were the very sativa leaning lemon phenos I saved of the SLH. The lemon is very potent. The silver is almost as good. Not as much frost on the lemon but having a hard time finding my tablet's buttons after half a small j. Best Haze I have found.

is there any justice to vostok's opinion of needing higher temps? what kind of temps do yours like?

I grow at a target of no higher than 80 degrees 6" from my LEDs.

we all grow at 75-85 ... i rest my point... don't think climate had anything to do with your plant not getting frosty..

I'm very surprised not one person asked about your lights? What are you using and how close are they? It's be proven that thc and resin production are directly related to uv exposure! With out this no need for plant to protect itself from it...

the indica right next (about 2-3 inches lower) to it is covered in trichomes and almost finished - around day 52 now.

I am just wondering if some long-flowering sativas take over 6-7 weeks to show trichomes. i mean there are pistils everywhere and small trichomes on the calyxs under a microscope, but to the naked eye it looks like nothing good...

Yup, totally normal for some strains. I have a Columbian heirloom that won't show trichomes for 5-7 weeks and finishes in 90+ days. Don't be surprised if you end up with super fluffy buds just because of its genetics.
