Why is there so much emphasis given to "the survival of the species" in this context? I'm sure you agree people who undergo sexual reassignment surgery are a very tiny fraction of the population, so why should it matter if less than 1% goes through with it? The species will still prevail won't it? Why treat these people any differently just because they want to do whatever they want to do with their own body? I don't understand..It just seems natural to me, Pada. That nature randomly assigns sex at a specific male-to-female ratio as to maximize survival of the species. And in order to change sex, it takes synthetic hormones and somewhat radical surgical procedures. This just seems so radical.
I'm not sure what might change my mind. Do you have any suggestions?
I'm open for consideration.
