Id say when the plants are about 2 weeks old transplant. So what is your goal for this grow. Every grow I have I set goals to achieve by the end, what is it you want. ex. How many plants do you want to grow?,how much money can ya spend to upgrade and whatnot?Do you7 want to keep mothers?and how much space ya have to play with.

About 1 hour ago, ups came and delivered my 150watt hps :hump:So its now over my babies. Well like I said, I wanted to do a scrog, because of the limited amount of space. And as of right now, Im going to grow 3 (the 2 in the pots, and the 1 that just cracked in the cube) and I was thinking about cloning, but I dont have the room for mothers (maybe 1 small one could work), I was also thinkin about cloning without a mother, but maybe 1 of them could turn into a mum later, I dont know for sure yet tho. My main goals are to grow some nice bud, and have fun really. I was hoping if I did this right I could get an Oz or two and have a awesome learning experience. Since this is only my 2nd grow, and my 1st grow with a HPS. I dont have any cash as of right now, but I have a job interview tomorrow, so maybe I can invest into some new stuff in a few weeks (hopefully I get the job lol). I will start a journal soon. But thank you so much for all of your help on this thread chaotic! You are awesome! + rep! :blsmoke:

Okie dokie the only other thing I wanna know is how tall they are now(plants)? and whats the dimensions of the fnial flowering space (height- width-length) this will help us decide when to flower and how big a screen to build.

#1 is 3 inches tall, and #2 is about 3.5 inches tall. The dimensions of the final flowering space are, height 22 inches from top of the final pots (they will be in 1 week from now), 25 inches deep, and 39 inches from left to right. But I was thinking about the 2x2 screen just because when I ordered the light they said that it has a 2x2 light area. So I dont really know how big to make the screen......

I would make a screen 24" deep X 27" long. You can easily supplement the extra area with CFL's and it will give you a little more room to produce buds since ya have 3 plants. In that alotted space I would pick the healthiest 2 by the they were 12" high. If the plants dont grow very close nodes and or seem to strtch like sativa traits. start supercropping to keep an even canopy. Ill post some pics showing it. If it's a more indica strain then it should be bushier shaped and then start topping it after the first few nodes start producing side branches.I tried labeling the pics to help ya,not sure if its going to work. If it doesnt Ill explain later if ya need it.
How big are your final pots, ya wanna have a decent size pot for the roots.@ least 3 gallon.

hello,
i plan on flushing the resivoir and the rockwool every 2 weeks to avoid salt build up, but my question is how do i flush? should i just pour pure water over the rockwool slabs and let the water drain into the built in resivoir and then dump the resivoir? how much water do i use? also when do i feed after flushing? when the rockwool slab is damp? thx!

also have a CO2 question: ive heard CO2 only during flower is ok, though its optimal if you do it both veg and flower. im pretty sure you only use it when lights are on, but if that is the case, does this mean use it 24hrs a day while on veg and 12/12 on flower? or keep it on steady 1500ppms while lights are on during veg and flower? any experts care to chime in please?

Wow, thank you so much for your help. And how tall should I make the screen from the ground? 12 inches from the top of the final pots right? The pots I have now are 10 inch pots. I dont know how many gallons it is though. And 1 more question, since the screen is going to be more wider than deeper should I put my hps facing front to back or side to side? (If that makes sence lol) Thanks again!

its a recirculating system, a table with a built in resivoir. so basically flood and drain. so all i got to do is dump the nutes and then close the drain plug and fill the table with pure water and open the drain (with the plants and rockwool slabs still on the table)?

Yep you got it, ya can place the screen 12" above the top of the pot and letem grow up to it, then start letting them grow horizontally till they fill up as much of the net as ya like before budding, indicas usually can fill up more of the screen before budding than sativas since they don't stretch as much.

It is optimal to use co2 at anytime the lights are on. As long as the plant is photosynthesizing it can use co2. Just make sure ya give them the correct ppm for your lights. Using during veg will promote stronger growth and get to the size ya want to achieve quicker.

As for the flushing basically yes, just pour fresh PH'ed water over the slabs and empty res. I havent leeched rockwool, but I know for soil its 3 gallons of water for every gallon of soil.

thanks you da man!

Thats what I am here for bro. I spent years just reading info, books, anything I could get my hands on before I came to the forums. Now there are growers I can ask help from instead of researching for hours, and I wanna do the same for people. Though I am a huge advocate of still learning as much as ya can on your own, everyone needs another way of thinking sometime.:joint:

I would say either magnesium deficiency or a lockout problem which just needs some added mag or a flush.

Hey chaoticmetal,

your helpin out alot on this thread! Thanks! I have a q on scrog. I want to make one for each of my waterfarms. I want to make them seperate so if the plants grow at different rates i can move them around. What do you think about that? How tall should the screen be and how big should the holes be? Im planning on making the plant about 1.5ft tall maybe 2 ft

hey man got to page 4 and realized it would be easier to ask it and have you answer it another time if you haven't already...

ok so ive been growing under t5 high output little 2 footer for 5 clones for like over 5 weeks now. the smallest one is just reaching a foot and the others are all a little bigger, but LST'd so not really that much taller. I just picked up an HPS 400w and have been vegging them under that for the past 3 days and i'm really liking what i'm seeing. i have a good 6 feet in there so i know they can get up to 4 feet and i'd be golden, so i'm thinking i should veg em for a little longer under HPS so i get as big a buds as possible.

is there such a thing as vegging too long?

and oh yea also, i'm growing in something like 2 gallon pots, will space be a factor for 3-4 foot plants?
