Welcome to TMB's BIG SIX 2015 Outdoor grow thread.
Outdoor season is on it's way here in TMB's garden. Just doing 6 plants this year, hoping to pull the same numbers I did last year with 8 plants (bigger pots & starting earlier this year). Soil was prepared in February, seeds were started on Feb 26th, and clones acquired in April.
The seeds starts are now 2'-3'+ tall, very strong and healthy. I have my "every year strains" that are proven high in medicinal properties, and high yielders. Let me introduce you to them.......
.
1) SR-71 Purple Kush, Super strong medicine, on the top 3 list of the "stoniest weed ever smoked by me" and I'm over "half century" old. She offers challenges when growing that other strains don't, not for the beginner grower. Always gets great reviews from other members at our BBQ's, and deserves to be at the top of the list.

2) Mad Purps, I've been smoking this strain for 16 years now and always delivers great flavor and a nice "evening" high. Hard to get things done when smoked during the day. Mad Purps was crossed with the SR-71 male.

3) Orange O,G, X SR-71 PK, Huge yielder here, super strong smoke with hints of citrus. This girl went from "just making the show" last year to a top 3 in the garden. Strong high, strong flavor, all around nice strain. Orange O.G. X Chem Valley Kush from Wheezer at the 1st BBQ was crossed with my SR-71 male.

4) Grand Master (GDP x Master Kush), Great bag appeal, very "orange" in color, strong effects and nice on the flavor pallet. This was gifted to me by another member at the 1st BBQ, and crossed with the SR-71 PK male.

5) Medijuana, This strain in an early finisher from a member we lost in 2014...Hodgegrown. This was one of his favorites that I tried a few year back to grow, but without success (flowered early). This year she'll be kept under a light outdoors until June 21st.

No Pictures of the Medijuana

6) Not sure at the moment what will go into that 6th pot.
Another SR-71
Another Orange O.G. X SR-71 (Huge Yielder)
A Kosher Kush (got wind burned on the ride home from Nuggs)
Maybe a clone from the BBQ?
Northern Lights X Blue Berry, great smell, looks like no other plant I've seen.
Cherry Pie
MK Ultra
Gorilla Glue #4
Any suggestion would sure be appreciated, please answer poll (there for 10 days).

I'm going from 100 & 150 gallon pots last year to 200 gallon pots this year. Lots of work filling those bad boys.

Pictures and updates soon.

TMB you know that I am subbed up man! I have been wanting to try all of those strains over the past 5 years that I have been in your audience! I am glad that you are growing out the Medi. I saw one at Nuggs and was tempted to ask for a cut but I know you guys are keeping those close to the breast now that it's near impossible to get. I would like to sample your harvest this Dec should there be another gathering!

:) I vote for the NL x BB to go into the 6th pot.

I had 4 seeds from Hodge (2 left in the seed vault) and another 6 from Nuggs I got at the 1st BBQ. None of the seeds from Nuggs popped, but 2 from Hodge did, 1 male, 1 female. Your more than welcome to a cut or three off the Medi, Hodge (and the Treeman)would of wanted it that way. Nuggs plant I believe is different genetics than mine. I believe his were ordered from a seed company, I could be wrong though, I know Hodge bread the ones I have, I pulled them out of the buds myself (is how Hodge stored his seeds, just left them in the buds).
I'm not lying, I'm leaning towards the NL X BB myself, but the SR-71 is super duper stoney, the Orange O.G. x SR-71 is such a nice, HUGE yielder that she will help me make my goal of the "same weight" as last year with only 6 plants, the Cherry Pie is proven to be a large yielder with great flowers.....decisions, decisions!
I do have enough soil for another 150 gallon pot, maybe TMB's BIG SEVEN 2015 Outdoor?

Man I would love to run a Medi but what a pain in the ass it was the last 2 times that I got her. Once from Fumble and once from DJJ I believe. Both times it flowered on me and I couldn't stop her. :)

Both GG#4 and NL x BB are keepers for me for the time being with Fireball rounding out the moms. :)

When to start your seeds and transplant?
I'm old school here, and what has worked for me and others I will continue to use (not broken don't fix?). Hodge (very old school) started his seeds in March in a Greenhouse for his fall run, this has been my technique for years now. This year I planted during the "waxing moon phase" at the end of February (26th, didn't want to wait until the waxing moon phase in March) and will transplant into the garden during the waxing moon phase in May (May 17th -31st this year). Planting on the "moon phases" was learned by me from reading the Farmers Almanac. It says to "plant above ground fruiting plants during the waxing moon phase, and below ground fruiting plants during the warning moon phase". Not sure if this really matters, but being old school, and what has worked in the past I usually stick with.
Plants have been outside for over a month now with supplemental lighting over them. Light comes on at 5;30am off at 7:30am, by that time of the day sun will be high enough in the sky to take over until late evening. The lights come back on at 6:00pm then off at 8:30 pm. These hours simulate the same hours as the Dawn/Dusk hours when transplanting during the waxing moon phase in May. Plants will be transplanted next week, note the "dawn dusk" hours 1 week from today in the below chart.

I bet you cant guess who voted orange x sr71...
Maybe next year I can cut it back to 6 or 12 plants instead of 18. I'm here to watch and learn!

This stalk at the first RIU BBQ really inspired me to grow seed and larger plants instead of a lot of plants, I've been cutting my numbers back ever since! I've lost a lot of pictures switching phones and computers over the last few years but this one has managed to stick around.

I've got room for 2 or 3 if you have to get rid of them, my wolfhound isn't the best around my plants and killed 2 seeds
