They have known this since the nineteen seventies.....Ontario
my older brother participated in a study back then....and when they(cops) didn't get the results they
wanted...they had each of the drivers drink 8 oz of hard liquor ..then re-tested their performance....
they used the 8oz of liquor set of results... for the marijuana impaired driver...results..
Of course they had to have results....
My brother did say their weed was crappy...even by 70's standards....and 3 joints and he barely had a buzz....
he actually had to ask them for some Asprin...since the weed was causing a head ache.....
He said no one failed at the driving portion of the testing for mj

If someone who doesn't smoke much gets blazed, they're going to be a danger to others on the road. If said person ODs on edibles, he's going to be a danger to people on the sidewalk, too!

Having looked at this from many perspectives, it's an issue of having to protect society from the worst case idiot scenario.

Colorado has a per se 5 nanogram limit. If you're over, you're getting a DUID. They're starting to show up in alcohol/DUI classes already...

The ways government dream up to waste our tax $ is beyond wastefull spending , studies like those amount to theft of public funds .

You dont need a study to find out if booze , weed , blow , heroin , speed , pills ect impare judgement & reaction times, maybe thats the problem , the dicks in charge of our tax monies are too fuked up to make smart choices .

Driving while under the influence of anything , including weed is fucked up & anybody caught driving under the influence should get immediate jail time a loose driving rites for atleast a year .

Im prescribed narcotic pain meds & am used to their effects & could most likely drive perfectly while under their influence but i dont, its very selfish for anybody to drive after smoking .

5 nano grams is nothing even casual smokers are likely to fail if the bar is set that low.

If you think for one second a pilot, bus driver or taxis, does not operate when they are on pain med? Think again.
Same deal. MMJ Pateints need to be able to get around.... It's nothing compared to pain meds!!! Another white wash tactic, courtesy of prohibition and the Harpshit Government!

I agree 100%
In perfect happy butterfly dreamland no one does do anythin and drive but back in reality things arent like that.
Colorados percentage is a joke. Me or any other regular daily "patient" would blow over the legal limit first thing when i wake up in the morning.
So does that mean i can never drive?
Ive been smoking mj for twenty years i dont even remember what a buzz feels like. Im high all the time now i smoke to relax my muscle spasms so i can drive

Even my doctor made a joke when filling my forms because it says no driving for 6 hrs after medicating.
He said "holy fuck wonder where they got the stuff for that test"

You can but

1500 mg a day plus plus plus...and I've got news for ya. Not even the slightest bit high!!!
No red eyes!
No dry mouth!
No backassward thinking

You have to be HIGH to be impaired.
So ....who's high and who's not high, and how did they get that 5 nano's again?

Most of the older people can probably tell you many, many years ago we would get pulled over and be shit faced drunk. The law would just say, better go straight home, don't let me see you out anymore tonight. Years and years latter came the DUI, DWI, OMVI etc., etc.
So, when that amount of time has passed we might see a more accurate limits with weed.
