Even though you built your own, Like Magnavox, Sony, ect., You weren`t picking up a public broadcast. If you did it to pick up WBCN in Boston, ...it would be....so what.
 
If the Government wants a public broadband, they`re gonna have to install it, but, it typical Chicago fashion, Obama`s Administration wants to steal or strongarm into selling undervalue.

Why would an Anarchist like you (smirk) fight to give a private company control over who can reach end consumers on the internet? The very privatization of infrastructure is only possible to maintain through government. Only a neofeudalist who thinks that Anarchocapitalism is actually a thing would oppose the will of the masses in favor of corporate power and then describe net neutrality as raping a pregnant woman.

Well good morning sir.

I am not for private companies (incorporations), they are a fiction of the state designed to facilitate cronyism.

Generally speaking there is no "will of the masses" that is a way for self appointed leaders to herd sheep. However if and when it is manifested by democracy (often a dirty word), the will of the masses could be that a consensus is made to do the wrong thing. That seems to be a frequent occurrence.

I suspect we could have a good discussion if you would stay on topic, but when you try to put words in other peoples mouths and refuse to answer questions it doesn't facilitate that. I mean that in a general way, not as a specific reference to this thread.

I do not oppose private ownership of economic infrastructure. For instance, you could own a mill that you built on a piece of land next to a stream. Somebody else could own a cheese press that they built to facilitate processing food from animals they tend. Are you opposed to that or would you have those things held in common?

The Internet is far bigger then just US corporations and many of you do not see that. The US carries the largest data load in the world, what we legislate here effects the entire planet ultimately. Postage cost: ¢49 Standard letter cost

Scenario two
I send you the same size and weight parcel, same envelope, this time I actually write you a letter.
Postage cost:$5.50 because of the type of data in the parcel, it was a letter, letters with writing are more.

To allow arbitrary pricing of things that are indifferent make zero sense.

I told Netflix to stop crying about being strongarmed while Netflix crushes the movie rental business that existed before Netflix. Netflix says you can get it on Netflix before it comes out on DVD. It is competition. If enough people scream about something they want then another company will come out with a product that meets the market demand.

Maybe the internet is going to get so stupid fast and large that companies can offer slow hookups for free just to boost their advertising revenue. If you can claim to have 10 million more subscribers your ad rates go up.

However, this burecratic bullshit will make innovative and useful features simply harder to create and maintain as big brother looks over your shoulder to make sure you are not screwing over the very customers you worked so hard to get and compete for.

It is insanity...

People want mom and dad in the front seat of the car and to separate them when them and their sister fight in the back seat.

You cant even choose an internet provider without government assistance? From the hundreds of possibilities available to you??? Seriously??? Is this what the argument boils down to?
