Rednecks. What are they? Originally they were agricultural workers outside all day with sun burnt necks. That morphed into any occupation working outside subject to the sun. Somewhere along time, Southerners co-opted the designation. Interesting because there are rednecks all over the US and even Canada who qualify and earn the title. Even though I was born a city kid, I have a farm and anyone who sees me considers me a redneck, all based on appearance.

Let's debate and settle on an acceptable definition of "redneck"

A redneck is a drunk racist white guy in a wife beater.even tho many rednecks live on farms very few own them.. Imo when a redneck buys a farm he graduates to either white trashOr lower class or middle class depending on how much he paid for the farm and how clean he keeps his front yard! That being said many rednecks reside within city limits.. for example one of ty's cousins!

hmmmm.... well im a Maine dweller and people consider me a redneck. My neck isnt usually red, but i hunt, fish, wear boots all year round, grill my food on lunch break with my mini grill in the back of my truck which is usually anything ive shot in the last week. I also enjoy my manufactured alcohol and cannabis during lunch break. Due to federal regulations i wont emphasize. I chew/spit tobacco like its a full time job. Im repulsive and i love it. I swim in my boxers, on a good day. I drive an old camo truck which makes pulling hit and runs while intoxicated at the local Wallmart difficult, but the city boys dont like bringing their new cars down our skitter path/logging roads, its too dusty and muddy. I dont own an AC, and dont really need one here, on the rare occasion it gets too hot we use fans with a bowl of ice in front of them. So, i dunno what your definition of redneck is, but thats what im called "round here", wouldnt change it for anything :-)
