If you have a window unit air conditioner unplug it and put it on a different line in your house. My HPS kicks off when ever my AC turns on high. It's normally on energy saver but on hot, humid days I kicks it up to HIGH.

Bulb cuts out and has a very faint yellow glow to it.Once it cuts off it takes 5-10 minutes for it to cool and refire.

Unlees u wired it up wrong and no meter has to be wrong voltage?? Try another plug in ur house if your sure it 110....and not a 240 like the ones for elec. Dryer are elec. Stove

Isn't a 220 plug vastly different and incompatible for safety and code reasons from a 110? Like one won't go into the other?

I haven't looked hard at these things, just rewired for a remote set up, but thinking that the hot/neutral might be swapped (not sure if that really matters, but all the diagrams I've seen do call out the hot and neutral to specific points)

the copper coil isn't broken but the outside metal casing is. thats y i put the cable ties around it.

how do i know if its 240 or 110?
The outlet or the lamp?

A 240 looks different. Some, instead of having 2 vertical slots and the ground, will have one vertical and one horizontal and ground. Or 3 slots kinda going around in a cirlce.

For the lamp, gotta look at the label and see what it says and is wired up for.

where are these slots located in the picture i posted? and could it be the black, film case looking thing? it says on it "afor use with specified egc ballast" it also says "105 degree celcius max temperature". could that be limiting it?

THe slots are a descripton of the wall outlet.

HOLY CRAP! I know why it keeps going on and off! (I think)

On the light fixture, see that little round thing with the lens and the squiggly lines inside of it? Thats a photo sensor. If its dark, it allows it to turn on. if it sees light, it turns it off. Put a few layers of duct tape over it and see what happens.

Yeah that asshole sent me a PM about not using a a/c and a HID.I told him the wiring i'm using can handle it but thanks for looking out.He sends me a PM saying "CANT BE GOOD FOR BALLAST?? JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU AND YOU WANT TO CUSS ME OUT.HAVE A NICE DAY"

I write back "Reread my reply.I didn't say one bad thing I even thanked you."
His reply..."IT SAID FU SOMEBECH DONT PM NO YOUR BLOCKED IM NOT BLIND?"
How retarded can you be.He might not be blind but he definitely should be required glasses to operate any kind of heavy machinery.

Big balls just a goo d idea for 2 reasons say your crompressor on a/c goes to ground its gonna trip breaker shutting off all power to that wall out let.less amp draw per circiut better on elecrtic bill like most peeps think its less expensive 2 run 110 a/c window units wrong than a 220 volt igrow hydro and the last thing i want is the compressor gounded and ground my lights pumps etc as for the fire hazard run be smart and run seperate cicuit for the a/c. The lights are you can due amp draw most houses have 15 to 20 amps for wall plugs.:-|
