Does this make sense?

So Im growing for me and my father in law. One tent is in my basement and one is in his garage. We have the same lights, fans, and water/nutes. But his plants are about double the height of mine. His are around 6" and mine are 3-4" Could the fresh air from opening and closing the garage door a few times a day make that much of a difference? I have the central air/heat fan in the basement so air is being sucked into the basement everyday as well.

This is the only thing that makes sense to me. I think Im going to run a vent pipe into my tent to suck in the outside air. I always wondered why I havent done that great and the answer seems to be stale air now.

Any thoughts?

I keep my tent at 82 lights on and around 77 lights off. His are about the same. Actually they were reaching 86 at some points when it got warm out for a few days. Some plants actually showed signs of heat stress but are still doing better than mine.

I am thinking it could be temperature related as well. His could be stretching due to heat. Or large temp differences from day to night.

Height doesnt imply health. how many nodes do you have and how many does he have.

Where inthe tent was it 86*. the canopy is hottest place in the tent. A corner or floor are going to be much cooler. 86 is a bit high.

There could be a million reasons, even the amount of nute buildup. But most likely its the RH and Temp (during dark cycle?) Oh and CO2

Heres a picture of one of his and one of mine. Both of ours hover around 40 RH, I just checked and his temperature goes down to 76 with lights off so thats about the same as well. Thinking a little now I did forget to mention that my tent doors stay open because I didnt put the vent fan in yet, just the fan to blow heat away from bulb (which both are Vornados that put out a decent amount of air. His do take more water but they are also almost twice as big. I go through about 1.5 gallons every two days with him and I use around .75-1 gallon every two days with mine.

Mine has 4 nodes with one just starting out, his has 6 with one just starting.

I think Im going to bring in some fresh air via a 1.5 inch pvc pipe. I will put a shutoff on it so I can control when air is coming in.

They look over watered. Could be why you're finding inconsistencies.
Although at the same time could be under watering? More water, less often.

Also in forms of soilless, Microorganisms won't exactly colonize as profusely, being that they get constantly washed away. So I pretty much promise those factors are dif.

How about a 4 inch inlineblower to exchange air.no need to get outside air, just exchange it.

I agree with Kush Knight water yours less volume and more often. Consider using mykos and adding humic acid to your waterings if you arent already using it.

Actually I think I confused you.
I prefer runoff from watering, meaning more water volume less often (not a good seedling method, great for veg plants)
Although you are also correct the alternative to achieve proper drying of the media is less volume, more often (great for seedlings, but leads to rootballing in veg)

Those plants look like they currently (totally) consume at most 1.5-2 cups a day.

@Kush Knight Im sorry, I meant I go through 1.5 gallons of water every two days for 6 plants. That gets you to 2 cups per day per plant.

I didnt think it was possible to overwater with 100% perlite hempy buckets. They are basically just drinking from the water at the bottom.

@chernobe I will check out those two products. Never considered adding the microorganisms.

@Flash63 I have a 6" vent fan that I will be putting in when they go to flower. But I figured with the doors open and fan going I am getting new air for them.

this post differs greatly from your first post where every thing was grown the same now theres all the things you forgot to mention....just saying mate maybe thats why your father in laws are twice the size?........temps and air?

Not sure what was so different. RH is the same, temps were getting to 86 instead of 82 at my house, both go down to around 76, both get the same ph nute water, same lights. Only difference is I keep my doors to tent open in basementand he keeps his closed in garage.

So maybe the 4 degree difference and the constant fresh air? I think I'm going to put in the pipe as an experiment.
