Here is the new growth, 24 hrs later, and here is the whole plant today.

looks fine to me, looks like you didn't get any extra branches tho...looks like it reacted more like it does when topped.

It's difficult to get the 4 you'll have to cut really low. If leafs start forming from the little hand shapes it's only topping the plant but fimming it grows a little slower than topping

Cut at very bottom of the growth tip instead of the middle.

I thought fiming was at 80%, I've topped before, I didn't want to go too low, but I think I'm going to have at least 4 tops, but won't know till it grows more, but it has started growing.

Here she is tonight, so 2 days, and I think I see 6 tops, but I don't know still.

IMO fimming sucks. I have done it many times. Even this year. I don't think it ever makes a big difference and getting four tops very seldom happens. If I could give you advice or at least my opinion, stick to super cropping. Between topping, fimming and super cropping.... Super cropping or pinching or whatever you want to call it works better. Again this is just what I have personally been most successful with.

You were just about perfect for a FIM. Hardest thing is making sure you get a straight cut that parallels the ground.

Question is if that plant needed to be FIM'd or topped. I would suggest the plant was already at the stage of bushiness that is best for growing. Most all plants benefit from a FIM. I'm not sure this plant is included. Good job though. Good luck, BigSteve.

Ya if it doesn't take, and after I looked today, I don't think it did, I'm Just going to leave it, it is pretty bushy and has lots of spots for bud sites. I'm just looking to dial in my setup with this one girl of floorboard seed, before I put 3 or 4 girls of good genetics in the space.

I found that to be true as well. I have never gotten them to split four ways, got lucky on a few 3 way splits...but ya, mainline is right, it slowed it drastically. I actually did it to a auto plant, even thos they say not to fim/top, I did anyway, and it payed off handsomely

I'm not going to play anymore, next time I'll stick to topping, and top it a couple times early on. It is pretty bushy already, so I'll leave it

Yes because it was found by topping wrong. Well I topped wrong and got nothing new out of it.

i usually FIM then lst the main stem down
after the side branches reach you can either leave it tied down or let it go
