Doer doesn't seem to realise that the reason Ireland is never attacked is because our only military operations abroad involve protecting civilians in war zones and stopping fighting from spilling over borders that arnt involved in the conflict.
Why would anyone attack us for doing that?

It is simple. They hide behind NATO. NATO hides behind the USA.
Imagine there was no NATO. Ireland would be in serious trouble. It is in quite the strategic location, in the North Atlantic.
Say there was no NATO.

But, no NATO, no Ireland. It is too strategic in locale.It is a prime submarine base location, to name just one more beyond Ice Free Ports.
I didn't even read the article, Ireland does not have the resources to do any "Warring", the best they can hope for is a defensive position. Luckily Ireland does not have any large land based liquid/gas energy sources, so it isn't profitable enough to invade and take over. So I don't think NATO is too worried that Russia or China is going to land troops there and take over, they know that would be a suicide mission, not wise to try and take a world over from in the middle of so many enemies.The article says that, bonehead.

Ireland has Nuclear missiles too, if you have those they help ensure safety through superior firepower.

IT is PRIME war-estate, on the North Atlantic sea lanes. You just ain't listening. NATO protects Ireland and for that Ireland sends War fighters to "protect." They are not APC Blue hats. That is just a culture myth for the Irish home land.
