I took some pics on my lunch break...Both plants look a little droopy, plant #1 has developed some sort of yellow-greyish patch, and plant #2 has the same thing but smaller in scale.

Any ideas on what mighty be causing this?

Ok, first off the droop looks to be from overwatering. they dont need alot right now as they are building root mass. As for the light colored spots....im almost positive its light bleaching. When i move the clones from the CFLs to the flower room, i only put them under a 400 for a few days to get used to the new lighting....also, the light is rather high to start out and drop it slowly over a week

Thanks for all the info TWL, I appreciate it! Gonna raise the light a bit, dim to 400w, and see how they do. Also doing a rez change tonight, .5 EC in nutes, center my drip rings somehow...lots of work to be done.

Good Morning RIU!

Did a rez change last night, bumped ppm up to ~320 or .44EC, pH at 5.8 for both buckets. I raised the light a few inches and dimmed it down to 400w until the little girls acclimate. I also managed to MacGyver the shit out of my drip rings, got them centered and working great.

Ladies are looking a little less droopy...I have two large airstones coming in today that I'm gonna throw in each bucket this afternoon, should put more DO in the water and get rid of the overwatered look. Oh and here's a gratuitous seedling shot:

Good Morning RIU.

So I dropped a large airstone in each bucket last night to put some more DO into the mix. I noticed some early signs of light bleaching (I think) again, so I dimmed the light down to 300w. This morning, I checked pH and both buckets had risen from 5.8 up to 6.7-6.8...not sure what caused this but i corrected back down to pH 5.7-5.8 for both buckets. I also checked PPM/EC and both buckets had risen a marginal amount, from ~320ppm/.44EC to ~350ppm/.5EC...didnt look like much water had been used as both buckets were just slightly below the fill line. Anyone have an idea what might be causing the pH and ppm fluctuations?

She can throw some purple stems and veins in colder temps....thats my guess with whats happening to yours. Check and make sure your lights off temps are getting too low. Snag one of those temp gauges that give you a max and min.....theyre cheap as hell. Also, for the rise in PH, i bet its the airstone. Maybe try it without the air stone for a full day and see where your PH goes. I know Protekt can cause some PH swings. As far as im aware Dyna Gro line is pretty ph stable so something is causing it to rise drastically. 1 full point overnight is spooky.

As for the light bleaching marks.....is there any chance that those areas got any of your PH down on it? that super concentrated mix? perhaps splashing up from the drip ring? if not then its almost certain light bleaching....just to give ya an idea i have my 400w light probably about 3 feet above for the first week.

I have lights off set for 9am to 3pm so they are off during the hottest part of the day, then I have a small space heater running from 10pm to 10am to keep room temps steady during the cold nights. I'd say typically the whole room is at 75*F...but the first night I brought the clones home it dipped pretty low in there (i didn't have the heater yet and when i checked in the morning, it was maybe 40*F in there). I'd say the tent is staying in the high 70's with lights on...i don't have a temp gauge so this is all speculation, but I'm in there pretty often and its usually warmer than my house, which we keep at 65-70*F. I will get a temp gauge with the min/max and see whats really happening in there. Any temp gauge (or temp/humidity would be even better) that you recommend?

I checked pH at about 10pm on 3/17, steady at 5.8...i didn't check 3/18 (rookie mistake) when I dropped the airstones in so I think you are probably correct. I'll be keeping a close eye on pH from now on, probably checking 2-3 times a day until I don't see any fluctuations. But ya i agree, I saw 6.7 and thought my meter was off...soaked in distilled h2o and measured again and it was still 6.7.

And there's a small chance, but very small. Since I spilled that stuff on my arm, I've been super careful with it. Maybe it was the 6.7 pH water splashing from the drip ring onto the leaves? Right now the light is about 3 feet from the tops, maybe a little under, and set at 300w so we will see how they do.

So I took a pH measurement at 1:30 pm and the buckets had risen to 6.2. I pH'd down to 5.5 to leave some room for creep. I took another measurement at 6pm and both buckets were at 5.8 and the ppms/ec had gone down a little. I just took another reading and pH is 5.8, the ppms have rose slightly (350-380) as they have drank some water (maybe a 3/4 gallon between the two) and I can see some roots starting to poke through the net pot, looking white and pristine.

Good Morning RIU!

Checked pH last night at around 1:30am, pH was at 5.9 and ppm/ec was at ~360/.51. Checked them again this morning at 8am, pH was at 6.0 & 6.1 and ppm/ec was around ~330-340. They have drank about a gallon between the two of them since monday, gonna top it off after work.

I also got a cheapo temp/humidity gauge in the tent...the high and low temps for the last 24h were 81*F and 73*F...the high and low humidity was 25% and 20%.

@TWL: I don't think low temps are causing the purpling anymore...but like I said, its really only prevalent on lower stems and that one leaf (lower fan leaf) which makes me think its a result from when I brought the clones home the first night and temps dipped into the 40's. All the new growth (stems and leaves) are a lush green.

Anyone have any tips/tricks for a simple way to raise humidity in my tent?

Took another pH reading at 12:30...both buckets rock solid at 5.8. Both ladies had a lot more perkiness and the roots are growing like wildfire...probably doubled in size and length (the roots poking through the netpot) since 8am this morning.

Lookin good buddy. Gettin more vigorous growth than i am right now and everything is lookin nice and green. You can probably slowly starting bumping up the EC a bit and see how they respond. As for the humidity.....whats yours hovering around at? We have drier air up here so humidity can be a task....i personally dont do anything but if you want you can add a couple cups of water in the tent or even a 5 gallon bucket with water and a fan blowing down in it....thatll help a little. Also, take those labels off the water bottles otherwise theyll start to rip apart and get everywhere

In other news, had a late night last night playing online poker till like 130am....came up close to $450 though! gimme a shout later if ya aint doin anything

My humidity is around 20-25% and steady...I'm probably just gonna leave it alone. As for the labels, taking them off tonight.

And hell ya thats rad! The only luck I have with gambling is when I play roulette or video poker at the bar. haha

Update time!!

Did a rez change last night...Bumped EC up to 0.9-1.0, I was shooting for 0.8-0.9 but I added a little more than needed so I just went with it (They've been growing like wildfire so I think they'll handle it), pH'd to 5.5, water temp between 64*F and 65*F. I was having some temp issues (temps getting as high as 95*F and only dropping to high 80's) so I made a few modifications and now we are back in the 72-78*F range.

I checked the buckets this morning, pH was 6.1 so I moved it back down to 5.6 (pesky fluctuation), water temp was at 64*, EC steady.

Gonna be topping tonight with TWL, probably let them recover for a week, then these ladies are going into flower! I will also be building my scrog net sometime between today and sunday, can't wait to start the bondage!!

It's been a minute since I updated my journal so there's a lot to catch up on.

I flipped to 12/12 on 4/2/14, so we are coming up on 2 weeks in flower. I left the MH in there (longer than I wanted to leave it but shit happens) for them to adjust to 12/12...I switched it out for an HPS on Sunday, 4/13/14. I got the screen in there and started training about two days after the flip. These ladies are growing like crazy, pushing new tops up to the net everyday...its getting a little tough to plan where they all should go! My pH problems have vanished, it seems with more nutes the buffers work better and keeps pH rock solid. pH is currently around 5.7-6.1, ec around 1.2-1.3, temp range in the tent is 68-75*, and humidity varies between 20% and 45%.
Gonna keep training for another 2 weeks (give or take a few days, I want to fill the screen as much as possible) then defoliate everything under the screen. I'm getting excited, little white pistils are starting to pop up at the bud sites, only about 6-7 weeks left!!

You have been doing really good though keeping your temps right below 80 in the mid 70s

Also forgot to mention, I came up on some seeds from a buddy of mine (Thanks again TWL!) so I'm most likely gonna run a new strain new round (although I will be keeping a few clones of this Rom Diesel, can't let this beautiful lady slip away)...I got a shit ton (metric) of GDP seeds, a good amount of Strawberry (not sure on exact strain) and Blueberry (same thing here), and a few mystery seeds. Definitely leaning towards either the GDP or Strawberry for next round...anybody have any info on GDP or "Strawberry"?

Ya the DWC is blowing them up. You should see the root balls, about the size of a football in each bucket.

Early on I had some temp problems...temps were ranging from 73* to 93* and you could tell the ladies weren't having any of it...but I made a few adjustments to my setup and got it in check.

How far in to your current grow are you? What strain are you running?

What changes did you make to get your room to cool the hell down.

I got white widow max clones (white widow x big bud)
And the purple mk from trinity county both should be real nice just the seeds are taller then the clones though kinda messing up my canopy height but I just adjust the lights appropriately.
