Gotcha. Yeah I know all about that root ball. I've jumped all the way up to 15 gallon fabric pots because of that, sometimes only putting 10 gallons worth of coco and just folding down the sides. 5 gallon won't do it, unless you put them on automated watering which I tried one time but didn't like the feel of. I like the interaction too much. Watering time is my alone time away from everything and everyone. Kinda like meditation.
I did use another trick when I first encountered that problem and it does help a little. I wrapped small plastic trash bags around the outside of the pots to slow the evaporation down. It did help, but the roots will grow through the pot and down the side if you do that. Didn't seem to hurt though.
It does defeats the purpose of the air prune, but would help with less surface area exposed to air for evaporation. What is developed already would be little feeder roots...then if it was now covered, larger taps would start to appear/form.putting plastic bags around fabric pots kinda defeats the purpose of using fabric pots does it not?
Both are the same. No difference that is noticeable. So which side is more root bound, sorry if you mentioned it... stoners tend to forget..
Yeah it kinda does but if your trying to fix having to water twice a day by hand it helps. I think learning about pot size with fabric pots when you hand water is something every coco grower that uses fabric pots probably goes through. Bigger pots, less frequent watering.putting plastic bags around fabric pots kinda defeats the purpose of using fabric pots does it not?
Your tripping...it's $1999...haha...but seriously with the code it's 1999. Yes it's expensive.nice experiment like the vid hope you get the time to do some more vid updates

You should really do this...and that.....hehehehehe...oh the ease of the internet...Everyone needs to chill. I said things were fine.
I'm watering/feeding every other day...maybe once a day since they were thirsty when I came back from my trip...so they drank the first watering then stored the next.
I don't have a problem with it really...just that I will change somethings NEXT round.
That was my fear, it was realYour tripping...it's $1999...haha...but seriously with the code it's 1999. Yes it's expensive.
I'm actually debating on buying a vipar with the same output as my ti smartlamp and there's $1000 difference in price and I'll definitely do a comparison journal when I pick it up. Probably a couple months though. Have to finish all my current stuff. That was my fear, it was real
I guess its a bit like when they compare sports cars on topgear great entertainment and practical advice for millionaires
it would be nice to see this expensive led run against an ebay Chinese model
maybe that could be the next episode

I'm all 600s I've always preferred twice as many 600s than 1000s an I've used both in different scenarios. The only time I feel 1000s make sense is large scale. Like commercial, but if you're growing personals or just pound or 2, 600 are a better bet when you match wattage they pull more than thousands. So that's what I'm going for replacement wise.I won't use lights that are worse on paper and in reality...even to prove a point. I don't just grow to play around with lights(that's debatable)...I need to produce a certain amount as well. I am into led's that are trying to replace a 1K hps...anything else isn't my goal. If it doesn't really have that potential...I will just use the 1K. Apaches are the only lights I feel that can do it, so I use them. I pay $0.35/kwh, so it comes back quicker than most.
I have been offered lights by a few led companies...none have passed my cut to even accept free lights...and none have ever made me regret that decision. If someone out there is using cheaper or chinese lights and killing it/me then I would be interested. But I haven't seen anything close to 1K from something on the cheaper side.
